I'm new to this site and I only recently discovered the comic book. I was wondering if anyone knows if the ghostbusters in the legion comic book are based on the actor's features? What I mean is are the ghostbusters supposed to look like Aykroyd, Ramis etc.

Not as far as I'm aware, there's a standard practice in comics like this and spinoff cartoons to not base the appearance of the characters off of the actors who played them in the original movie as to save money, if for instance Peter Venkman looked like Bill Murray and Egon Spengler looked like Harold Ramis then they would have had to pay royalty fees to use the likenesses of the specific movie actors.

They did, however, look more like the movie actors than the designs from the cartoons did. Egon and Ray have dark hair, for example; Ray isn't fat, Egon doesn't have a pompadour and rat tail (save for one gag in issue 2). Venkman's probably the one that looked closest to RGB Venkman, but he had more Murray-ish hair.

wow, those initial desgins look kinda creepy, esp. winston who looks like he's been hanging out with barry bonds or stallone a bit too much. and ray looks like a hobbit.

I enjoyed them, but other people didn't… frankly, I could go into a whole speil as to why I think they're good, but it won't really matter.

If you see one of the comics for a good price and pick it up then that'd probably be a much better way at showing you if they're good in your opinion or not.
