Sex was never seen in the films so this shouldn't have been in the comic.

Dunno what comic you got, but nobody was seen boning in the one I read.

What I did see however, was the implication of sex. Something that existed in both films. Not to mention the bucketloads of sexual innuendo.

Does anyone know if issue 2 will have more dealer exclusive covers?

I was lucky enough to find two of them for issue 1

I meant something like this. I always think of the films as light in the sex dept.

Do you mean dealer exclusives, or retail incentives?

Dealer exclusives would be a specific cover only available from a certain dealer (is that the mystery cover for this issue?)

Retail incentives are offered to comic shops for ordering a certain number of the comic (as with the Virgin cover for this issue).

Well, light on explicit sex, sure. But Venkman cracks sex jokes constantly, and I highly doubt the possessed Louis and Dana “I want you inside me” Barrett were only having a tea party on the roof in the first one. Not to mention the “babysitting” in the second.

So yeah, sex has always been a part of Ghostbusters. Aside from the cartoon anyway, which by the way featured its fair share of time travel…

Read it over the weekend. I'm not overly impressed. While true - the art is a lot better than TOS, the story's not doing it for me. While I like that they brought “smart peter” back, Rachel is completely unbelievable. With TOS, we all wondered how in the world they were going to make it back after seeing their bodies riddled with holes and dumped in the East River. No explanation was ever really given. They were magically allowed back because they fought for good and won without help from higher beings - mostly skipped over in the story and just implied. In DA, we've gone the other way - explain how they come back in the very first issue: special girl from the future upgrades the proton packs, and single-handedly turns the “Ecto-10” into a time machine. Convenient and weak.

Will I collect the rest of the story and all varient covers to complete my collection - yes. But it really is sad when I start to miss 88mhp.

88mph was awesome because it wasn't too unbelievable, at least for Ghostbusters. This comic has taken a story structure that Ghostbusters doesn't fit into. I think because the writing for the films and cartoon was done so well, we were spoiled. Sure RGB had some crappy episodes, but the good ones were amazing. I don't understand why the writing is so terrible for this comic. IDW's Star Trek comics are amazing, this is like a Ghostbusters meets Army of Darkness.

Its not that unusual to miss 88 MPH.

The stories they did were fantastic, and the art was amazing. The only thing wrong with 88 MPH was the delays, which ultimately led to the demise of the comic. Without that, I don't think anyone ever complained about the art or the story.

If you were to take everyone in charge of Legion… Kurth, Dabb, Blond… all of the guys who actually wrote, inked, colored, and put them into IDW's series, you wouldn't get many, if any, complaints.

Quoted for truth. I will be the first to admit that I have no idea how the comic industry works, but I wish the IDW could pick those guys up and let them just run with the franchise.

Darn you Clavet. You had the GB world at your fingertips!
