the video game even connected Vigo to Gozer

They did? They hinted at a connection, but from what I remember the connection was so vague it would easily be explained away…hell…me and Jeff did just that on another thread.

While I have to agree it does seem like they are beating a dead horse going back to Gozer…again…I would love to get a chance to have a further look into the Gozerian Pantheon so I guess thats why I am keeping an open mind.

::edit::

It may just be me, but I love the Steampunk equipment…I just have a problem with Peter of all people being able to construct it. It would be far more believable (to me atleast) for Egon to be able to construct the steampunk equipment…

Still…it's gotta be less stupid that Goza and Horg from the Marvel UK stuff, right?

Was it “Goza” or “Gozo” who appeared as Gozer's son in that annual where they toured the UK? I can't remember. And what was Horg's relation again?

Then there was Proteus from “Janine Melnitz, Ghostbuster”, who was from the same Pantheon as Gozer, right?

Man, he had a lot of homiez.

I believe you are correct, I think Goza was Gozer's "son…but like you cannot remember Horg.

I seem to remember Proteus being mentioned as being part of the Gozerian Pantheon…or maybe they just compared Proteus to Gozer…I cannot remember.

I had an idea that made Samhain part of the Gozerian Pantheon as well

Well, they said that Proteus was a “Primeval god, like Gozer”. I took that as meaning they were of the same pantheon, but I suppose it could be interpretted as them just being on the same power level.

Well, I took it as “Proteus is in the same pantheon as Gozer” too…I have actually included Proteus in my own list of “Old Gods | Gozerian Pantheon”

Yeah, I think it was “Gozo” The memory blurps out a bad bit every once in a while.

Horg appeared somewhere…with ECTO-1's site down I can't say exactly where, but I remember a cover depicting Horg that made him look like…well, “Scottish redneck” is the description that came to mind.

Proteus is the name of a figure from the actual Greco-Roman pantheon; Gozer was a made-up Sumerian god. They're not really part of the same pantheon unless you want to “add” Proteus to the Sumerian one.

I always operated under the assumption that Gozer wasn't really a member of Sumerian Pantheon but another (I refer to as the Gozerian Pantheon due to lack of name ) and that some time in the past the Sumerians either by an actusl physical encountet or not stumbled over Gozers existance and placed it / he / she in there pantheon

I'm just hoping that this'll be a better run, story wise, than The Other Side was. The concept for this still seems too RGB like for me though. The guys scattered into different times, by Gozers father was it? The GB comics as of late from Legion to the Other Side just haven't done it for me overall of translating GB into comics. Legion was barely above The Other Side for my liking. I still think the best one for GB literature was GB The Return novel. It felt more like the movies. I'm hoping when I get the game this too will feel like the films. Here hoping.

I think it'll all be a disappointment for you in this regard for two main factors:

Firstly, none of this stuff is being written by Dan and Harold.

Secondly, the people behind these comics are probably trying to make it a bit more appealing to readers who aren't hardcore Ghostbusters fans.

The Other Side was an extreme disappointment, but that was largely because the writer didn't have a single clue about what he was doing, and also was a bit of a hack when it came to the ending.

Wait…what? Only Aykroyd and Ramis write good Ghostbusters stories? I sure hope that's not what you meant, Ben.
