Ghostbusters... Doom?

Not quite. It has been roughly 10 years since I had worked on an old Doom conversion of Ghostbusters… and no matter how hard I try… I can't seem to get away from it. Recently a Doom community member created a Team based Deathmatch game called “Ghouls vs Humans” where players choose between several different classes and battle one another. Ghouls consist of a variety of types… but more importantly, You can also plays as several humans. Of note, the Ghostbuster. I decided to contribute to the project and donate a bunch of new artwork so it didn't continue to use the 10 year old images from the old Doom mod.

Granted, this is no Terminal Velocity Multiplayer game… but it's pretty fun. You'll need

http://store.steampowered.com/app/2300/ - Doom2
http://www.skulltag.net/download/files/release/skulltag98a.exe - Skulltag
http://www.filefront.com/14808867/GVHv2b5.zip - Ghouls Vs Humans

Install Skulltag to your Doom2 folder, and unzip GVH into the doom2 folder. Run the IDESE file to browse all the gametypes available. You'll want to look for Ghouls Vs Humans games.

Ghostbuster Tips: Proton Pack recharges when you're standing still. If you kill a ghouls, pressing the Alternate fire button (you'll have to set one up in the controls) it changes your packs' fire type. You can switch to traps any time. Pressing altfire lays a trap (you can lay more than one). Pressing regular attack detonates all the laid traps.

Sounds awesome Scuba Steve!

I wonder if a lot of the community's ghostheads can come together and organise a monthly game on a particular day, that would rock!

It would make for a lot of fun having members from the board on there!

It's funny, I still play ZDooM deathmatches with a mate every now and then with some customised deathmatch maps. It's still a blast!

I have a problem. I have Doom 2 but it doesn't work on my computer. There's an obvious reason. It was made over 10 years ago and modern computers can't work it. So there's no way to play this game. I tried downloading it and it didn't work. I can't open it. I can't install my copy of Doom 2 on my hard drive. So how exactly can it work?
