So does this mean that SONY are not really the evil corporation that everyone said they were.
At least they have stepped in at the 11th hour to distribute the game in Europe, we may not of got it at all.

So why did Atari not do a deal with Namco to publish the game in PAL regions?

Actually this article says that they will release it in June, but who knows for sure. It would obviously be to their benefit to release it in June as this marketing campaign has been pushing a June release and they'd be the hero of several gamers. I guess it depends on what exactly the agreement with Sony permits.

Distribution Partners is expected to handle Namco Bandai’s product sales in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia, and will be headed up by John Galloway, previously of Take Two, THQ and EA. Distribution Partners will also handle Atari-produced titles outside of the US until 2014, which includes Ghostbusters: The Video Game, on non-Sony platforms, in June. Atari’s European marketing boss, David Miller said:

“We believe that DP will become a wholly-owned Namco Bandai games company soon, but this process requires time and we will comment further when we have an anticipated closing date.”

^God I hope that is true. It looks unlikely though as game shops here in the uk have pushed the dates back on their sites to October/November time. Ghostbusters Wii is my most anticipated game so i hope it is june.

It makes sense that they make sure that the Sony console owners get it first then as it's there brand and it all ties up with the 25th anniversary of the film.

Then why delay the game on the other consoles till November though, that still doesn't make sense, why not delay it a month or two instead of another 6 months?

So why did Atari not do a deal with Namco to publish the game in PAL regions?

The fact is we do not know the whole picture as to what is going on behind the scenes.

Maybe all of Europe was going to be left in the lurch and it was SONY who stepped in to make sure at least the SONY consoles get the game.

Are we even sure that it will actually be SONY who distribute the game later in the year for the other consoles, maybe it will be someone else.

Have SONY distributed games on other formats in the past…?

Who ever said Sony would distribute the non PS formats? Atari said they would, now it will be Namco

Well it really is looking like Sony have done us a favour after all.

Those that say Sony should publish for 360 and Wii are crazy. You'd never see microsoft or nintendo doing that.

Maybe Microsoft and Nintendo should take some blame for not stepping up and offering to distribute the game for there Consoles….?
