Eh… none of these were really like “Oh yea definitely!” for me. They were all kinda like “eh I guess.” I don't really feel like they fit in with the comedic style or story type for this. Granted I haven't seen too many of their movies either.

Considering that most girls these day weigh less than a Proton Pack I would find it hard they could carry one, anyway after giving it some thought I would say one of the only females I can see being a Ghostbuster would have to be Lucy Lawless (Battlestar Galactica / Xena Warrior Princess / Eurotrip).

Other females that would be good in the movie would be:-

Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother / American Pie / Buffy)
Denise Richards (Bond / Undercover Brother / Starship Troopers)
Vanessa Angel (Weird Science / Kingpin / Stargate SG-1)

There could absolutely be a girl Ghostbuster, and she doesn't have to be a nerd to fit in.

There could be a badass chick who is better at busting than say a cocky male recruit or a nerdy male recruit.

A nerdy girl is not the only way to have a girl Ghostbuster fit in.

That would ruin everything, none of the OGB where considered as very handsome but average mid-aged guys. Would you really want to see a uber-beautiful girl that would wipe the other characters out?

I realize the kitchen thing was a joke, but suggesting that there can't be a woman play anything but a nerd clearly wasn't and that's just wrong.

I never said the woman would have to be uber-beautiful. There could be an average mid-aged woman who is just good at the job, and kicks ass, and is just as sarcastic and quirky as the rest of them. Suggesting otherwise is what bothered me. An average mid-aged woman doesn't have to be a nerd to be a Ghostbuster.
