Ghostbusters III: Just the originals or a New team?

I'm not jumping for joy over a new team, but I think I'll be okay with it if they get the casting right. That's the main thing I'm worried about there.

Also I really hope the original Ghostbusters have their hero moment in the film, and don't sit on the sidelines the entire time. It seems like a no brainer to have the scene where they suit back up one more time and help out.

I'd prefer only the originals, but if there is a new team I'd still go watch it!

I'm not sure whos being tipped to be in it, but I could see there being a part for young actor Michael Cera, he has spoken of his love for Ghostbusters, and is in the Egon directed Year One.

No, actually he's said he's not really interested in it because it's too big of shoes to fill.

Shame, hes got a awkward nerd style that could fit into a Louis or Egon-type character.

seems there gonna be getting a short-list of actors, since most of them are too intimidated and/or hesitant, since most have grown up on it, they have too much respect for it.

If that happens, then hopefully they'll resort back to an Originals-Only premise. haha.

ive had opinions on this before, but now ive decided, do just 1 more film with the originals, and then carry it on thru games, sorry but seeing new ghostbusters wud break the child inside me's heart

theres only 1 ray, egon, venkman and zeddermore, it wudnt FEEL right watching it and there hardly in it,

it cud fail if we dont have the originals, we may aswell call it something else to, cuz it simply wudnt be ghostbusters

I hope someone writing the script reads this, you will destroy Ghosbusters III if you only show the original cast for a little of the movie, the Ghostbusters team is Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Harold Ramis, New Cast will kill it!!!! Especially Milano I mean no offence but her parts in movies have been nothing more than dreadful

I think it should be the first 30 or so minutes with just the original guys then introduce the new people later on. Kind of like when Winston was introduced half way into the first movie.

If they do have some “new recruits,” I think Christopher Mintz-Plasse should play Egon's son. He looks exactly like a young Harold Ramis. He would play well into the “scientific” ghostbuster that's awkward and nerdy.

There was sexual tension between Egon and Melnitz in the movies, so Christopher Mintz-Plasse could be their son. Egon's son would totally be a nerdy guy who would follow what Egon does.

Why does there have to be 4-5 new recruits. You can have the 4 originals plus 2 new recruits. Oscar Barrett as one and Egon's son as another. Even if Oscar is not Venkman's son, it follows that Dana and Peter could have gotten married and Venkman is basically Oscar's father.

I am against the new team.

First, I think it is kind of insulting to think that because the guys are getting older they can’t still make just as good of a movie as the first, if not better. It could give the so much material to work with showing aging Ghostbusters and where they are now. I think the guys are still funnier than any other actors in Hollywood right now.

Second, its drives me crazy that Hollywood is going younger and younger. Look at this new Star Trek movie. These guys are barely in their twenties. I mean look who is huge right now… guys like this Shia Lebeuf! Look at who was popular in 1984. The biggest stars were guys like Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman, Warren Beatty all guys that were in their 30’s and 40’s at the time.

I know I am rambling but I am so afraid of a twenty something Ghostbusters. I don’t really want to see a bunch of young guys screwing up… I want to see my old guys screwing up. There could be some new characters but I don’t want to see Ray and Egon back at the station talking on the radio or just showing up at the end to help the new kids.
