Crane games are a complete rip off if you ask me. I've never been able to get anything out of those stinking things.

hah neither have i….and i mean NEVER. Until the other day. That was my first prize in those crane games…ever and it was worth it.

I once got an “Ace the Bat-Hound” plushie from a crane game. That's the ONLY thing I've ever won.

Next time you're in that Wal-Mart (or wherever), any of you, check the hardware section. If you're lucky, they should have one of those spring-loaded “mini-grabbers” wherein you push the plunger down, and four black tines come out.

Buy that, and then here's what you do: You take your grabber, put it through the “escape” hatch, and make sure you get a secure hold on whatever you're trying to get. If you do it just right, you'll get your prize. (I assume, by this point, that you've already pumped a few dollars into it, and are well within your rights to put my advice into action.)

Let's not advise people to do something illegal, how bout that?

Putting a few dollars in to a game of chance does not entitle you to steal from it, which is exactly what you are doing. If they wanted to, they could have you arrested for that. You're not “well within your rights” to steal just because you didn't win a game of chance.

You can say all you want about the crane games being rigged or whatever, but what you are suggesting people do is stealing, plain and simple.

I used to be in loss prevention for various retail outlets and their warehouses, and I can't stress this enough:If you truly want them that badly, go to Ebay and get them. Because if anyone at any store where these crane machines are sees you, it'll be a shoplifting charge. And they don't go away like they used to. Most retailers won't hesitate to call the law. And woe to those that get spotted by loss prevention as nowadays they can hold you till the cops come. And THEN it gets ugly.
Not worth all the legal trouble-not to mention possibly being banned from the store premises. Ain't nothing THAT cool.

I was able to fish out Ray and Staypuft.

Lost out on Venkman and Slimer
