Ghostbusters International / Nervous GM

Okay, so im a nervous Ghostmaster. I just recently went to great lengths to acquire physical copies of GB International the RPG, and other supplements.

Im looking to host a game over the web, and i have a 1 signed up star, 1 on the fence, and 1 whose internet connection may bar her from playing.

Im setting the campaign in Austin, its a city i know well. And its set in 1994.

the A.G.B. or Austin Ghostbusters get called out to investigate some strange goings on. Sounds simple.

Here is where i need advice.

Im extremely good at running serious RPG games. Im not so good at comedy, without it being goofy.

Can you guys give me some pointers of how to infuse intelligent humor into the game, without making a clown ghost or something?

Ideas would be appreciated.

We're ready to believe you!

I guess my first question is what is “GB International the RPG, and other supplements” I guess its some guide to an RPG game but i have never heard of it… (*peter)

Anyhoo I guess you could base the comedy on the people character traits, like the film. Academics say some funny things, even if they are not meant to be funny (I am an academic myself - or one in training at least) and I always found Pete and Egon the funniest… mainly the interactions of a cynic/“cowboy academic” and scientist.

Not too sure what to recommend really. Just try your best at humour i guess
