i just went to mine to put money down on the ps3 version and pay off my guide. Also i asked about the midnight release but they said they dont know. 3 weeks ago i asked about it and they said yes and now it turned into they dont know. well we will see.

Well, mine said they don't know yet, and to call back in about a week… so I guess that's not bad news… but not great news… its just… news.

mines doing a midnight night release I'm dressing up for it.

I had hoped to be the Lone Ghostbuster at a Game Stop run by the comic shop owner's friend because I had caused quite the stir working the comic shop's 3rd anniversary. When I went to work Free Comic Book day(with my Star Wars buddies), the Game Stop manager was there and told me: 1)there would be no midnight opening and 2)he would have to work out a time as to when to have me there. I thought: How about the 12th of never-but I didn't say anything. Needless to say I was crushed. Oh well…such is the life of a lone local Ghostbuster..

I feel for ya, buddy. I probably am the only full-fledged Ghostbusters fan in my town. I know some of my family knows about Ghostbusters, but are'nt anywhere near as big of a fan as I am.

So you hadn't discussed it with the guy at all previously, and he saw you in costume, and thought it looked great so he brought up the idea, but said they weren't doing a midnight opening but that he would love to have you come to the store?

usually get it a day early if you've had it pre-ordered for more than a month, an i've had it on pre-order since the end of January so hopefully i'll get my copy on the 18th

Sorry about the issue of clarity in my post. Allow me to explain:The Comic Shop Manager is friends with the Game Stop manager. The comic shop manager wanted me to wear my Ghostbusters gear for his shop's 3rd anniversary. When I did, people all over the shopping plaza came over and swamped me as if the film had just been released the day before. On the strength of THAT appearence, the comic book manager told his friend the Game Stop Manager about me and I was told he was DEFINITELY interested in using me from 8-midnight to “work the line”. My dismay came from meeting the Game Stop manager at free comic book day-at the afore-mentioned comic shop-and him telling me they weren't going to have a midnight opening after all…and he would have to think about the best time for me to come during the day…hence my consternation/issue.:-(

Well that's definitely a lot clearer. But still, the guy is offering to have you come to the store for a promo appearance, you shouldn't snub him just because he's not having a midnight opening.

Not to take up anymore room with the same dry topic,so let me say this in closing: The SNUB was experienced by ME with the Game Stop manager “trying to fit me in”; I could tell right away he was giving me the bum's rush that day…and he hasn't called the comic shop manager about it since. And before you ask, the comic book manager VOLUNTARILY acted as the go-between Game Shop manager and myself since late January..and no one has brought it up since. And on these message boards…neither will I.

Its probably for the better that mine isn't having a midnight release. Knowing me, I'd stay up all night playing the game and be trashed the next day at work.
