My GameStop isn't doing a midnight launch. Bummer.
don't think mine is either. not enough of us who pre-ordered it to warrant a mid-night launch. im also hoping the pc version is coming out the same day as the console versions. their (my local area) still says its the 16th, and not the 23rd.

the guy at one of the stores said it didnt matter if there were 1 or 1000 pre orders for the game. it just was all just a corporate decision on which stores would participate.

i dont think ours is participating then. wish they were, but oh well, its not like i cant wait on the 17th to get it. then again, its been awhile since ive asked them if they were, maybe they changed their minds bout a mid-night launch. next time i go, ill ask again.

Walmart had a sign that they were having a midnight event for this. might pick up the wii version there that night.

Sounds like mine won't have a midnight release party after all… and they're also giving me the dreaded “The game ships on the 16th, so it should be here on the 17th” BS… I'm sorry, but the game release date is the damn 16th. If companies want to make that the ship date then the release date should be publicized as the f'in 17th. This has happened to me on more than one occasion and its frickin ridiculous.

My response to the employee would be this:

“Your corporate website says that the street date of the game is June the 16th! Is there a reason why your store will be getting it later than every other store on the Western Hemisphere?”

You should complain, that is total bullshit. Take your business to a different gamestop.

The manager at mine said they would have it and its one of the only two in CA having it.
