Ghostbusters Minimates

Which is too bad really. I thought part of the problem was the Cadillac rights. Now that they are doing RGB, a RGB inspired Ecto (which of course was done without Cadillac likeness). However, really having no idea what their contract entails, I don't know if that would get them around the problem or not. Then mix that with the info that the other vehicles aren't selling well.

In short, unfortunately, there's really no reason to expect an Ecto in minimate form.

I could easily do without Proton Pack Slimer (too many shades of Action Hero Slimer) or either of the Louis Tullys, but the rest are winners. It's sad it took twenty five years for any sort of Sandman or Boogeyman to be made, but they look awesome.

Where'd you hear that? The production of The Real Ghostbusters almost certainly paid the likeness rights to Cadillac for Ecto-1.

Fritz, it only took 11 years for Samhain to get a figure (true, it was marketed under the Extreme Ghostbusters banner, but it was definitely him).

I could have sworn that was in one of the extras on the DVD set somewhere. Going to have to go back and check for it.

:-)
And that's why I didn't mention him in my post, just Boogeyman and Sandman.

About the Ecto-1

Mattel owns all license rights to distribute Ecto-1 toys of any size or shape.
DST can not make a vehicle titled Ecto-1 whether it's movie, game, or cartoon based because they don't have the rights to the Ecto itself.

Thanks for the info about the Ecto Jay. Like I said, I wasn't sure how their contract was worded. Interesting that they don't have the rights to it at all.

So, now that the Ecto 1 Minimate has been put to bed completely, Ecto 2 anyone? (**ducks thrown articles**)

Sweet close up pics! The faces on the figures are perfect! Especially Boogeyman and Sam Hain.

And now that I can see them close up - they even added the proper horns to “Big Green”

Once again - great job AA!

About the Ecto-1

These RGB minimates are looking pretty cool, and I might be interested in picking up at least the Venkman one. I'm glad to see that the proton guns are pretty accurate, but how about the packs? Hopefully they're not just exact molds of the movie minimates. Having the proton packs be black instead of navy blue does detract somewhat from the accuracy, but black doesn't look bad.

The packs are the same molds sadly
