I have yet another question to ask. Did the proposed Ghostbusters monthly ever come out?

Nope, the proposed monthly series is still yet to see release and will almost surely never see the light of day.

They have it over in Bizarro World. In Bizarro World, Legion #1 came out on time, in February 2004. The mini-series finished in May, and in July 2004 Ghostbusters #1 came out.

Over in Bizarro World, they're reading Ghostbusters #39 right now.

And the hardcover came out in Halloween 2005, too.
