G'day folks - my name is Tony (the Bill Nye, the Science Guy guy) who is working on GBOZ. 1st i am glad to see everyone being mostly positive about our project (with a few narky exceptions… best to ignore them eh?)

OK - i also do an indy comic down here & with a crazy arsed life - long story short i almost never get a chance to get on the net socially, so advance apologies for probably forgetting to reply for a while.

Yeah - we have issues with the photos & updates (the comic goes great guns & we wrangled free adverts at an upcoming con that got into TOP COW comics - so we have been pulling out all the stops there coz we must be doing SOMETHING right to be noticed… anyhoo…) So apologies.

The idea is we want a new unique logo, still giving the good nod to the original (well spotted Kingpin). Also we are the Australian ‘franchise’ so unique names that are just as odd as ‘spengler’, ‘venkman’, etc but ours. My character is a conspiracy nut & shannon's is all gung-ho.

We have very cool movie-quality traps & packs thanks to a mate whos a cabinet maker & a bunch of others I have cobbled together - not too badly. (only 1 didnt turn out the way i would have liked). We have done the opening sequence & part of the 1st scene (still to be tweaked, etc) & we have the streams & trap FX down pretty good. Uncle Sam is simply a spirit of corruption taking the form of a USA look (if we were in the UK, he'd be a guy wearing an E.U suit) & essentially most ghosts in Australia are not as active as elsewhere, but after we ‘fail’ & someone shady gets us back in business, the ghosts come thick & fast before we take on the big bad at the end… any more gives our ending away

So hopefully after a few life-issues get sorted out you will see more of us.

PS - we have a flashback scene to SUPERMAN RETURNS for my character as i scored a role as an extra in it - full screen shot of me as a doctor for 5 seconds 2 hours in after Supes falls to Earth from throwing the big rock into space - there i am! So proud

I feel i should probably clarify our spirit of corruption which is not meant to be a dig at america, mostly at the youth & yuppies here so willing to toss out australian words, etc for overseas stuff (& the slow death of anything australian - even well established writers of books here must now apparently pay a STORAGE fee to have thier books on bookshelves HERE, but no other countries do! insane!)

Our spirit (cant remember his name off the top of my head) has been around a long time. Would have appeared to the romans way back when as a rampaging christian, the american indians as a brittish invader, etc. If he appeared here 2 decades ago, it would have been a ghostly samurai representing the feel then when japanese were buying huge tracts of holiday land on our gold coast, etc.

So dont feel bad it is Unc Sam… it just suits the feel down here (think Steve Irwin… thats why he used so MUCH Aussie-isms in his speech - to keep them from dying off… apparently a lot of indiginous languages are dying away - but find life somehow on the net… bless it) …it is also one of the cheaper costumes we could rent out for him low budgets and all
