Ghostbusters Read Along Book

Remember those old read along books with records in the 80s with cheap voice actors? I was searching the net and came across this Ghostbusters version!

http://www.mdp156.com/cavern/ghostmovie.html

There's no book, only the audio, but it's pretty bad! They didn't even use the proper proton sounds, and they don't sound anything like the actors. In fact, I think it's the same guy doing all the voices lol.

They also had The Real Ghostbusters version. I don't know how those sound though. They had one for Rambo: First Blood Part 2 and strangely, it was pretty decent compared to Ghostbusters.

The Laser Ghost one I had, and yes that songs lyrics are in the book too. If you want me to, I could scan the book that comes with the audio for The Laser Ghost.

I want to say a few things about it, first of all it was based off the movie completely and it looked as tho, the art was like, they handed the artist pictures of the actors and the ecto one, then said guess the rest. The office peter has in that book looks more like the inside of a spaceship. anyways

I have 1/2 the book up in another thread. The other 1/2 is coming soon.

I still have the RGB Cold Cash & Hot Water audiobook. It actually wasn't too bad considering…i had a listen not so long back.

Gotta love the borderline racist voice of what they think a black guy sounds like, Winston in part 2 :-)

LOL Winston, sounds pretty bad in The Real Ghostbusters read alongs too. Egon sounds decent at times in that one, oddly.

I remember i used to have a green one that had an old 45 record with it. Lots of pencil drawings, no color at all, a green cover with the logo reversed on it. I think it was about the Ghost Riders of the old west or something like that. im assuming your not talking about the same one though. Wish i still had that old book. A nice bit of GB history

this is brilliant. whats funny is that, Ghostbusters has survived from being considered 80s cheese, and is very far from it. but this turns the whole movie into cheesey 80s nostalgia. its a very hard task and they pulled it off.

*That's exactly what it was ;P…“Ghostbusters: Ghostbusters Meet The Ghost Riders”…It was put out by “Peter Pan” the same company that put out “The Lazer Ghost”…

*And believe it or not - Someone, actually a few people involved - Made an art/audio exhibit based around the book itself:

*The “audio tour” MP3's are the cassette/LP from the book itself with no tampering on their part :p…

*Cheers.

I took it upon myself to edit together a video version of that art exibhit. One of these days I'll post it to YouTube.
