I rather would see a Ghostbusters live-action TV series then a remake.
They did some good shows like Stargate SG1 and they gonna do this with Star Wars now why not with Ghostbusters?

The idea is great, but I don't think too many TV execs would go for something like that. Television can be even more brutal to ideas than Hollywood.

They shouldn't make remake. They should make Ghostbusters 3. Fuck remakes. They are going to remake Evil dead and Halloween. Sam Raimi is not going to do that and there's no Bruce Campbell either. Doesn't sound so good… doesn't sound so good at all.

A remake seems hard to justify at the current time. Down the road when the origional team could not even play a supporting role, a remake is more likely.

acutally they can still do a GB3 it's just make it continue from GBII, where there GB INC is now very large and world wide or so.

Then they'd digitally put Dan Aykroyd into a dialogue scene with Slimer in the firehouse garage.

I think if you want another ghostbusters movie they have to restart the franchise. Take Batman Begins, and Superman Returns. Batman Begins had a very successful restart, why? Because it was reborn. People weren't really comparing this Batman to Michael Keatons, or Val Kilmer's they just wanted someone who could pull off that character's persona. Superman Returns failed, why? Because it was a continuation, and I think because it was a carry on of the original series, people were more likely to compare Brandon Routh to Christopher Reeve's character, although Chris was the only superman throughout the series whereas Batman had different actors in the role. You have to think that maybe ghostbusters could be successfuly remade if the right actors can be found who have the essence of the original actors who brought the characters to life.
Now if you took the original ghostbusters and had them replaced by new ones, would you really be as interested, would you really be able to watch a story without characters like venkman, spengler, stantz, and zeddemore. And going back to the batman, superman analogy, would you ever be comfortable with someone else other than bruce wayne, or kal-el/clark kent being batman or superman

Let me put it this way. They're gonna remake Robocop. Do I like that idea? No. If it an't broke, don't fix it. With modern times, they'll alot of things which I don't really like.

It's different for Batman. Batman has been tons of people. Everyone is use to a new Batman every decade or so. Not Ghostbusters. And if they did remake it, would they use the same characters like Batman? Or start completely over new names, no Egon, Venkman, etc.

And if there's no Venkman, Egon, Stantz, and Winston, then I won't even be able to see it as a remake. More like a whole different story of people who catch ghost but just happen to use the same title, “Ghostbusters”.

But like Gh0stbuster said a while ago. I'd rather a live action or CG tv series.

Hi, I just subscribed here but I'm a long-time ghosthead. Ten years ago I posted in Bill Emkow's board with my real name, that is Simone I. I wonder if someone still remembers me (and to avoid any possible misunderstanding: I'm Italian and Simone is a male name in Italy ).

To answer the question: what I'd like best is a Real Ghostbusters live-action TV series (which means a lean Peter, a chubby redhead Ray, a blond Egon and a quite attractive redhead Janine). One thing that I would NOT want to see is stories where the Ghostbusters must fix a disaster they caused themselves; instead, I'd prefer a darker mood, with ghosts that actually look menacing. Oh, and lots of special effects, because scenes with characters moving in pitch-black corridors shooting shadows don't scare me, they bore the hell out of me.
