Your opinion. It won't cheapen him as his character is awesome and always will be. I mean they DID put his crap in there, out sick and such. Plus since Rick will not do the part taking his past work makes his character live on.
Your opinion. (FYI, its a message board, we're all posting opinions, just because mine disagrees with you doesn't make your's fact, nor does it make mine fact, its a discussion, you don't need to point out the obvious)
They put the character's stuff there to have references to him. The actor puts in the work to make the lines his own. Taking lines that have already been used for other scenes, and trying to reuse them just to make the character live on is not only a slap in the face to Rick (Ok, we're just taking your old work and reusing it), its a lame idea. we don't need to hear Louis saying “Ok, but I didn't know you had your license” again, let alone exactly as he does in the movie, just so that we can say the character lives on. In
my opinion, in order for the character to “live on” we would need to hear and see him do new things, not just hear the same old lines from the past movies over and over again. Let alone that requires some lame writing in all likelihood in order to make the lines mesh with the new ones that the other guys would be saying.
