Ghostbusters The Video Game 2

Well I remember lines like “I was born to wear this stuff”. and “Boy this equipment is heavy.” and the stay fit quote etc. Hell, have his ask “Who does you taxes?” to the ghosts. He IS a gag character after all.

You can't just take sound bytes from the movie though. They won't make sense and it will cheapen the character. It will lessen what Rick did to make that character, by basically saying “we can just take your lines and fill them in anywhere”.

If Rick isn't going to voice him, Louis shouldn't be in the games, plain and simple.

Your opinion. It won't cheapen him as his character is awesome and always will be. I mean they DID put his crap in there, out sick and such. Plus since Rick will not do the part taking his past work makes his character live on.

Your opinion. (FYI, its a message board, we're all posting opinions, just because mine disagrees with you doesn't make your's fact, nor does it make mine fact, its a discussion, you don't need to point out the obvious)

They put the character's stuff there to have references to him. The actor puts in the work to make the lines his own. Taking lines that have already been used for other scenes, and trying to reuse them just to make the character live on is not only a slap in the face to Rick (Ok, we're just taking your old work and reusing it), its a lame idea. we don't need to hear Louis saying “Ok, but I didn't know you had your license” again, let alone exactly as he does in the movie, just so that we can say the character lives on. In my opinion, in order for the character to “live on” we would need to hear and see him do new things, not just hear the same old lines from the past movies over and over again. Let alone that requires some lame writing in all likelihood in order to make the lines mesh with the new ones that the other guys would be saying.

*rolls eyes* You like to argue ALOT, I don't know why. I am just discussing.

ANYWAY, I think the next thing to come (hopefully) is more campaigns. I love the ones we got, but maybe some on shandor island etc. The sedgewick would be cool. Maybe new game modes?

Why is it that because I'm discussing something with you where my opinion differs from your's that automatically that means I'm arguing with you?

I'm discussing my opinions on why the idea does not work. That's not arguing.

*sigh* When you have to make long posts and put in parenthesis tell me how message boards and opinions work it comes off like you are an a-hole, whether you mean to or not. Just type what you think, respect others, and have fun! No need to go into long spills and “FYI” people. Look, no more about the opinions. Lets just talk about the topic.

Just like how you look like an a-hole when you tell me that my post is “My opinion.”? I wasn't posting as if anything I was saying was fact, I was discussing the idea at hand with you. And my post was not long at all, I just pointed out that you don't need to try to start an argument by telling me that what I post is my opinion.

I don't like the idea. You do. Those are both of our opinions. I'm glad to discuss the idea and our opinions on it at length with you.

FINE, then we both posted stuff that was taken the wrong way. I meant nothing by it. Lets move on shall we?

I don't' think taking Rick's previsou work and redoing it to put it in the game is a slap in the face to him at all. He decided to not do film work. Ok, cool I respect that of him, but no offense to Rick his character, Louis, is a integral part of GB and since the game isn't much ahead of GB2, then Louis should be in there, somehow. I think a couple sound bites from when he was IN THE SUIT would be fine. I think it would be hilarious.

I'm just not sure that there are enough sound bytes from when he was in the suit…

I mean all you'd really have is…

“I was born to wear this stuff.”

“Boy this stuff is heavy.”

“Ok, but I didn't know you had your license.”

“I'm a Ghostbuster!”

There's just not a whole lot of conversations you can have with those lines. And you're also making the assumption that any follow-up to this would be really close in the time line to this game. A sequel to this game could be set in 2000, or even later, who knows.

I also don't entirely agree that Louis is an integral part of Ghostbusters. He started off as a guy who was possessed, but had no relation to the Ghostbusters other than that. After that, they made a sequel, and wrote him into a bigger part to be able to bring back all of the original cast, so he became their accountant. In the end he ends up suiting up and going to the scene of it all, but I think the comedy from that scene comes from the fact that Louis actually does nothing. The crowd singing weakens Vigo, and the guys take him out. I never thought that Louis did anything by blasting the slime.

He's a funny character, and has some good lines, but I don't think he's necessary, nor should he be a Ghostbuster simply because he was once.

The video game kind of implies that he hasn't really busted since the movie too. The uniform is hanging there (with “Spengler” on it, which shows he doesn't have his own uniform). But he still has a desk, that has lots of paperwork on it, which I assumed to just be accounting stuff.

Well in multiplayer, you don't here the other ghostbusters at all (Unless I am talking so much in the mic I don't pay attention), SO, you really don't need his sound bytes I don't think. I think just a model in mutli player would be a nice “hats off” to him. Also he could have gotten off sick leave!

Integral? Oh yeah man! Without him Gozer would have NEVER came into this world. Pretty integral to me! I mean both Dana and Louis were chosen. To me, the hound could have chosen anybody at that party, but Louis was it and also Dana was pre chosen.

Yeah he didn't do much in 2, but he did suit up, truck his ass over there and try. It was funny but Janine also suited up in RGB and wasn't a real GB but she did try.
