Ghostbusters: TVG Sells 1 Million Units

I bet this has been posted already, sorry I could not find it if it has.

Ghostbusters Reportedly Cost $15-$20 Million
Game also already sold 1 million units total.

US, July 21, 2009 - Ghostbusters fans, I think it's about time you all gave yourselves a round of applause and a few high fives. Not only did Texas-based game developer Terminal Reality create a great Ghostbusters game to play, y'all actually ran out and bought it.

The Star-Telegram reports that Ghostbusters: The Video Game has already sold nearly 1 million units total.

The multiplatform title sold moderately well for the month of June, according to NPD Group. So I guess this means it'll have another strong month for July? We'll have to wait and see.

Budgets for games are rarely discussed, but the report also reveals the total development cost was upwards of $15 million!

Yikes.

We here at IGN thought the game was “Impressive” to say the least. What did you think?

Well it was released on like 5 consoles…. I have a bunch of people I play other games with on my PSN and it tells you what game they're playing… With the exception of one friend I know from here, I've never seen any of those people on my list playing Ghostbusters… Seems a little weird to me…

Yet, I've seen countless forums where the user has their Gamercard as their signature and almost 80% have had Ghostbusters in the last 5 games played.

Similar to how mine, will most likely always have Ghostbusters somewhere in view. Speaking of the multiple releases, has anyone played the DS version yet, I'm sorely tempted to import that for some “bus journey to work” busting action.

Minus the bus journey to work part, I am too curious about the DS version but don't want to sink any money into at the moment unless of course it is good then I might seriously think about it

I have the DS version, it's pretty good. It kinda follows the same story but plays like an xcom title. Very enjoyable in short bursts.

We should be proud of the achievement, almost 1 million units selled.

I'm excited to be a part of it!

SONY can see now how much we, the ghostheads, support the franchise.

Should easily get to 2 million sales as it's only been released in Europe on PS2/PS3, so when October comes and it is released on the other formats sales should get a nice boost.
