Ok, Ghostbusters song remix question here…of the three other different versions of the Ghostbusters main theme that ive heard by Ray Parker jr, ive seen the Ghostbusters Extended remix, paul rudoff version with movie quotes in the song, and the Special UK remix. Now as for my question, were the GB Extended remix and Special UK remix both done by fans or were they offically released by the record company? Something ive been curious about. Thanks.

Well the UK remix you can find on Audiogalaxy.com and download it. I think there was a website that had a version you could play on realplayer. I think the site was PKE Online that had it. I used to have the address for it but ive lost it. Still though, if the extended version was released by the record company, was the UK remix just released in the UK? I think the Paul Rudoff mix with the movie quotes in the song were done by who ever runs Spook Central. Or am i wrong on that? But just go to audiogalaxy.com and look for Ghostbusters Special UK remix. Or just type Ghostbusters and it should be listed on there somewhere. Itll bring up the regular one, cartoon series, techno remix, extended, paul rudoff version, the whole nine yards ya know what i mean?

I forgot that I even made a remix of the GB song with movie quotes. God, I wonder how long ago I did that. I erased my copy a long time ago because, if memory serves correctly, I don't think that I did a very good job on it.

I'm a little shocked and quite frightened that the song is still out there. When I took it off of my website years ago, I wanted that to be the end of it. I thought that people would have better things to listen to.

That's what I hate about the internet … things get taken and re-distributed so many times, you can't control anything anymore!

Case in point, this website: http://www.paranormal.de/ghostbusters/.

Besides the usual stealing of images, and linking directly to multimedia, this guy had the nerve to steal some of my website design!

Check out these two pages of his site in two browser windows …

http://www.paranormal.de/ghostbusters/speciale.html
http://www.paranormal.de/ghostbusters/secialef.html

… and in another window or two, check out the GB1 DVD Special FX Comparison and GB2 Behind The Scenes pages at my site. You'll notice something oddly familiar.

It's things like this that make me want to forget all about Spook Central. I mean, if they're stealing the stuff that's up now, I'm scared to find out what they're gonna do when I put up the better, higher-quality stuff. Is it worth the effort to do the new multimedia if there's no way to protect my hard work?

Paul i just want to say, i am VERY impressed by that remix you did. Im glad that someone else still had it for me to get a copy of. Its one of my fav remixs. well actually, i love all of the ones i have already. I think you did a great job on it. You dont think that maybe you could do me a big favor and make a copy of RPJ's instrumental version of ghostbusters and mix it with the people shouting Ghostbusters in his other mix do you? I'd really really appreciate it if you do! Will you, huh, buddy, chum, pal, friend?

something else i thought i should add Paul. When i do listen to that remix you did, its almost like watching the music video…but since the movie video didnt have any audio from the movie, just scenes…i guess its the next best thing for that audio version to have audio clips from the movie. You did do a great job on it man. I mean it.

I still don't think that I did a very good job on the remix, but as long as everyone else likes it smile

SavannahGB, as for creating that new remix you wanted, I'll consider it, but I haven't done a remix in so long, I don't know if I remember how to do it.

Actually, I just got an idea for a new remix I might create … taking your idea, and adding quotes from ALL films and animated series to it. But I'm not going to worry abput this now, as I have much bigger fish to fry.

Just out of curiosity, Would you also happen to have a copy of the Eduardo/Kylie remix I did to Paula Abdul's “Opposites Attract”?

I might want to get copies of both of my remixes. I might even put them back on my site, only if I'm able to make one I like better smile

Actually Paul, i didnt know anything bout that. Ill try to see if i run across it on audiogalaxy or another music program. Although your idea does sound pretty good about having another GB mix with all the movie and cartoon quotes in it. Though i do say again, i do think it would be cool if you made a regular GB mix with none of RPJ singing in it, since no one ive found seems to have a copy of RGB style theme song with just the shouts of Ghostbusters! in the middle of it. I really do hope you do it. If you mix another one as good as the mix i got, i might have to go out and buy you a plaque or a big trophy! lol.
