Ghostbusters Video Games

The best Ghostbusters game is Ghostbusters 2 for gameboy. I've tried playing all of the other ones and found them to be no fun. GB 2 for Gameboy was great because it was like playing Zelda except with the Ghostbusters. You fight the Scoleri Bros and a few other ghosts from the movie. I also loved using the pick axe to break through walls. Sorry for being so stiff.

It really is the best freaking game. Go find the rom. It took me awhile to find it, but it was worth the time. If anyone wants to upload it I can send it to them. I don't know how to upload stuff.

It's the best one I've played. Better than New Ghostbusters 2 on the NES I think. I still have it somewhere. There was also a Real Ghostbusters game for the Gameboy which I never got the chance to play. I heard it wasn't that good though.

I voted for the only one I've really played, Extreme Ghostbusters: Code Ecto-1 for the GBA. The only place I'd ever seen it for sale was at a Value City store years ago, so naturally, I bought a copy. Not a bad game at all for the $15 I paid for it.
I sort of have played some of the GB games on the NES, but that was so many years ago that I only have the vaguest memories of them.

my laptop doesnt support MS-DOS so i cant play it anymore. sucks. i miss that game. yeah i never got passed the libby level. nice to hear someone actually did.
What OS? If it's Win XP you can use a PC emulator called DOSBox (google it) I use it to run my old-school pc games from back in the day.

Hello all, this my first post here in sometime, back during the heyday of Ghostbusters.net I was know as Venkman 582, now you can call me Midcoast Ghostbuster. I took midcoast as I hail midcoast Maine, thought I was born
in Albany NY.

For me the best game of the lot is Ghostbusters II for Gameboy, I love how you can switch between the four busters on the fly when playing and the power ups are a real blast. The Slimer Blower here actually does work compared to the first GB II game for Nintendo NES, and the other powers fun. I wish that the game designers had incorprated the PKE meter and Ecto
goggles as part of the game play, that would of rocked.

I wish that the sound for the proton streams and ghost traps were in the game it would have really added to the movie feeling of the game.
The sounds that are in the game are okay but just not the same.

Whoops, forgot to even say which GB game I picked!

I still want to get around to playing every GB version on the different platforms, but for me my fave is GB for Sega MegaDrive (Genesis for you foreigners :p) Followed closely by GB1 and RGB on the Commodore64, call me old fashioned but I loved those two games to bits!

i downloaded and the DOSBOX and got it workin fine, well i do it the cheaters way i extracted it into the GB2 folder and just drag and drop. lol. but one problem, everytime a soundbyte plays the game freezes. example; the intro when vigo says “ I vigo…”, the game freezes and i have to restart. or after i catch the Scolari Bros. and the soundbyte goes “Two In the box!…” have to restart cause the game freezes.

i Tried losing the scolari level on purpose to get to the real gameplay. but i clicked “Answer The Phone” and Janine comes up and the soundbyte “Ghostbusters! what'ya want?” plays and the game freezes.

any solutions??

i figured it out. you gotta hexedit it ( whatever that is, but i figured it out). took about an hour of searching. but oh well. i've always wanted to beat this damn game, and now i finally can. cept during the libby level i'll make it 45th street where the museum is, but do i have to make a turn or somethin? if so, how?
