Ghostbusters Wii Features.

Since we're apparently getting less graphics, less story and less dialogue (so what are we left with?), there'sgot to at least be some appeal to this version that just shaking the Wiimote around like a proton blaster.

I made this post elsewhere, but I’m going to add it here in regards to the Wii version:

If the graphics are cartoony like from what little I’ve seen, then I want to import my Mii into the game for create-a-character. Plop his head onto a Ghostbuster jumpsuit and let him join the team. Nintendo goes all batmess crazy about how Miis are such an “important” part of gameplay, but outside of Mario & Sonic, and a bobblehead in Metroid… where, recently? Developers need to jump on this feature a little more.

Obviously, the Wiimote is the proton pack. but I hope you can “throw” the traps and activate them via the nunchuk similar to the shield bash in Zelda: Twilight Princess. Seriously, is this not a given? Or if not, I want to use the Wii Zapper as one of my control set-ups.

I hope this is Wi-Fi co-op. I want to ‘bust with my friends. Multi-player team ghost hunts! I don’t want to see the Wii version be a bunch of mini-game crap, and I’ll call “foul” right now if that’s attempted. Oh yes. Voice chat. Must. Have. No Friend Codes, please.

LOTS of interviews. Cast/voice interviews, motion capture sessions, a BIG interview with Akroyd and Ramis (and Murray and Hudson) on how they got this project off the ground, and why it became a game. Concept art would be cool too. Even skins to give the look or jumpsuits of the Real Ghostbusters counterparts. This is essentially Ghostbusters 3. I want to know how this all came about.

I'd also want the Genesis version of Ghostbusters as a Virtual Console title to choose in October 2008. I'd even want to see the NES versions, though I doubt I'd download those.

I just want it to be a good, fun game. That's why I play games, after all - for enjoyment.

All the potential added bumph is just that, bumph. It won't enhance a bad product. It will be welcomed, but I'd rather the developers gave us a good game first and foremost.

Anyway, if it's even remotely like Luigi's Mansion on the GameCube, then I'll be a very happy bunny.

The Wii version had better have Stay Puft in it or I wi'll be (o_O)

But less graphics, less story and less dialogue is not a bad thing alot of Wii and Ps2 versions of 360 ones can still be good. And it looks like for once the Wii version will have the advantages in some ways.

Multiplayer is the advantage of the Wii which adds more replay value to it.

The co-op is all well and good (it better be online with friends for all the sacrifices), but all the omissions make the single-player campaign sound like it's going to be absolutely horrible. Ghostbusters with less dialogue means less witty comments, and that's a lot of what made the series so great.

I know a lot of people are “Let's just be happy that we're getting a game at all.” Well, that positive outlook won't sustain if the game's done poorly or is rushed. This doesn't need to be a children's game, nor does it need to be some party game knock-off.

I'm NOT saying it will be bad, but from what we've been told, the direction it's heading sounds a little concerning, and if they wait until the last moment to start unveiling what the game looks and plays like, that's game speak for “It's in trouble.” Seriously, we have pages of what the 360/PS3 version looks like, and for the Wii, one screenshot and a concept render of Ray.

I'll wait and see, but so that last comment about the “less dialogue and story” has upset me a lot worse than the simplified graphics did.

Wii's Spider-Man 3 had awesome controls for web-swinging, but outside of that, the game was mediocre. I don't want Ghostbusters to be follow suit. Cool controller implementation… and that's it.

Spider-Man 3 was mediocre on ps2 , ps3 and 360 too so that doesn't work.

Oh snap! Anyways, I know I've said it everywhere else, but I'll say it here. I don't mind the graphics on the Wii version, I actually like that Pixar-esque look.

The problem I have is that they say that they're toning down the dialog and such, thats what I mind and don't find cool at all.

Yeah but dialogue and story is good. The wii as much as I love it (it's my favourite console) it can not fit the same amount of stuff in a game as they can for the Wii.

So they cut out story and dialogue , The important parts will remain. BUT unlike a like a lot of games that just cut out story and dialogue and use the “system limited” excuse

At least they have cut a corner graphics wise so they can add the multiplayer games. This will boost it's replay value a lot which is more important. Lets say the 360 one has a great story.

Like Luigi's Mansion on game cube , it was a great game , great story and I played through it a few times. However a game like say Halo 3 , The story mode is fun , shorter than most games sure but I have personally played it a lot more than Luigi's Mansion.

Why? Because of the multiplayer and verse modes. This gives you more hours of gameplay which makes the game IMO worth more as you really get your money's worth.

Both equally great games IMO however the multiplayer is what makes Halo have more replay value

I agree that all the versions Spidey 3 was pretty bad all-around (I did like Part 2, though), but what made the Wii version particularly bad was the fact that it could have had the potential to be a good game (based off how the other games were), and while the control was good for swinging, the rest of the game wasn't. The other versions of the game (PS2/3, 360) didn't even have the cool controls going for them.

My original point was meant for I don't want Ghostbusters to fall under the same curse of having a cool and interesting control set-up, but the rest of the game tanks. And really, multi-player is going to work the best if it's online IMO. But Nintendo is still currently skittish on that particular subject. They do it, but not often enough.
