Not to be rude, I've been looking foreward to this for a long time, but it could use some improvement. It seems more like a Ghostbusters-spoof than fan-film. There needs to be more actual Ghostbusting. It looks like it has great potential and is really funny, but it's Ghostbusters, show them busting ghosts. The church basment scene was a perfect setup. You could have had them open the door and catch the ghost, but you went for "Let's have them run away like little girls. I may be a little critical, but I think this has great potential and I want this to succeed. And ditch the lame theme song, use the Ray Parker jr. theme.

I'm sorry ahead of time, but I can not let this go. I feel that I must say something.

Now, I'm not exactly sure what Dr.D is thinking. First off, I absolutely loved it! What a great concept! It's exactly like if the Ghostbusters franchise actually existed! But seriously. Does Dr.D think that the entire show should just be a bunch of guys running around town bustin ghosts? That would be boring as hell and needlessly nerdy! Even in the movie they only do one actual bust in the entire two hours. Same for the second Ghostbusters movie. They only trap one ghost in the courtroom. (jogger excluded because it wasn't a “full on” bust) Besides, if you hit a zombie with a proton stream it'll just burst into flames or just BURST! I thought it was funny as hell when the crew ran away from the zombie. “We aint afraid of no ghost” but no one said anything about a fear of zombies. That's funny S**T!

Also, I don't see anything wrong with the theme music. I cranked it on my system because the bass line it has is one of the most kickin I've heard in a while. If those guys used a copywriten song like Ray Parker Jr's it would just be like all the other fan films out there. (frankly it think it's over-used in Ghostbuster fan films) This was one of the first fan films I had seen where someone actually took the time to do something different. If that song was so great and every Ghosthead HAd to use it, then why didn't Ramis and Akroyd use it in the sequel?

Does Dr. D also have a problem with the car these guys have? It's not a 59 Caddy just like the movie, so obviously this show Ghostbustin 911 can't be successful. And those proton packs! The packs in the movie didn't have LED message screens so there's another reason why this show can't become successful. (Is my sarcasm blunt enough?) Honestly Dr D, you seem to be looking for a hundred million dollar Ghostbusters 3 movie in a fan film Reno 911 parody shot with a camcorder. That is one hell of a stretch! Do you have a film we can all see and knock it because you didn't steel it's theme song from someone?

My appologies Dr D. I don't mean to be rude. I just get a little sick and tired of people who don't do S**t their whole lives and sit on their high horse and crtiticize other peoples work and creativity. I wish I came up with this idea. (;_ Don't you wish you came up with it? I'll admit it. How about you? Or is it just jealousy? Unless you're going to put Ghostbustin 911 on a broadcast network, where do you get the idea you can tell those guys what for? Personally I can see a pile of creativity with this series. I believe those guys are on to something and will be very successful. Besides, aren't there going to be at least 10 episodes? Man, give it a chance. They'll probably bust more ghosts in the whole series then both movies and all fan films combined. (At least I hope) And when do we get to see that hot blond chick from trailer 2? Is she in more scenes with the Ghostbusters?

With that said, and all the sunshine up Ghostbustin 911's a**, do you need any actors or extras? I would love to work on such a creative and different type of fan film. Hell, I'd even cash in my frequent fliyer miles to come up there to Minnesota just to hang with you guys!
Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see episode 2!
Peace

Anytime you submit anything to internets, it's open for criticism, Mr.Poltergeist. He said two or three things, ending with “I may be a little critical, but I think this has great potential and I want this to succeed”. He didn't outright say “YOR MOVIE IS DEH SUXXX@!!” so your argument is null and void.

I have to agree with Mr. Poltergeist. Sure anything on the internets is open to criticism, but how can all of Mr. Poltergeist's arguments be “null and void”? Certainly a fine concept like ghostbusters 911 reality show could be criticized, but why would you do that? I agree that almost all fan-films use the parker jr's song too much. It's about time someone came out with something outside the box. Has anyone listened to the song at the end of the show? Personally I think that song should have been at the beginning. It has a catchy tune just like the original.

Cant wait to see more!

Seriously this didn't work. It could have been fun if it had a plot and wasn't that reality stuff. The show runs on for 27 minutes before the credits.

Advise, Get a the guy that added the 3d monster in that one part to do some more mosts and bust them. Stop with the running commentary. Cut the footage and make it watchable. You had maybe 7 minutes worth of footage that could have been interesting enough to watch. I'm so disappointed, I'll point you to a project I did, that is as low weight on footage but worked much better.

Watch this, as it was made from around 30 minutes of footage me and a friend did. The movie is now at 2 minutes not counting credits. Look different camera angles, and edits. I could have shown the two characters running for quite some time, but why? Get to the point.

Heres the deal, make them short and to the point. Think about dialog before shooting and shoot it till right and take that part that worked only. And here is another thought, did you really want to watch this? I didn't after a few minutes. I'm sure others scrubbed through this too, looking for something other than dialog that goes nowhere.

Well I can seen it's someone's time of the month. You don't mean to be rude? Well, I don't mean to be rude when I say CALM DOWN. It's my opinion. I didn't say I hated it, I actually liked it, but the post asked for our opinions. I think that the show has a great plot. I mean that the show can be funny, but when it's a Ghostbusters fan film, there should be some Ghostbusting in it. I'm not saying lets have a 25+ minutes of just catching ghosts, but there was no actual ghostbusting. Sure, I appreciate the humor. I loved the scene with Shaggy, “He's high on PCP!”. This isn't a horrible film, but it's set-up more as a spoof of the franchise. And just so Mr. Poltergeist knows, I make fan films myself. I know that this isn't a real film, and for a fan film it's pretty good. I don't know where I said I didn't like the packs of the Ectomobile. I just suggested some changes that could make it great. I also agree with devilmanozzy that the dialogue needs a bit of tweaking, but it wasn't horrible. And for Mr. Poultergeist to personally attack me, claming it was out of jealousy (really?) or that I “don't do shit with my life” is just low. The post asked for our opinion, not for us just to say it was awesome. As a filmmaker, I know I'd rather hear criticizm than people just saying It's awesome, because I aspire to do better. I can't imagine anyone who has seen my films would feel it's wrong to tell me there is a problem. Just because you squrited in your pants when you say it doesn't mean everyone else thinks the same way. And last time I checked, this is America and I can post my opinion.

I liked it a lot I was a well done film and had some really funny parts in it.

The only rant I have is I agree with the other that the ghost in the basement should have been busted instead of being ran away from. My suggestion would have been that they ran away from the ghost, then when they got to the top and started to head out the door. The leader should have stopped them and had them go back inside and bust the ghost. Also the mass zombie attack at the end was funny but really didn't fit into the episode, It would have really been good for short video as a joke.

But that being said, I have been anticipating this series for a while and I hope that you don't take some of our criticism to harsh. Instead take them stride and improve upon your videos. Love the format, love the show, love to see more.
