Who/what the hell are Epic Win Burlesque? I am not entirely sure what's going on here but I am guessing by Kingpin's harsh attitude this is a porn movie or something?

Completely agree.

These people are not “out there doing what they can to spread the gospel of Ghostbusters”… They're out there using a classic movie that has a big fandom to promote their cheap burlesque show.

The fact that you can actually sit there with a straight face and act like you're not doing the same, trying to ride their coattails, when their poster is as immature to say “It's Ghostbusters… with boobs” is beyond ridiculous.

We're not going to provide material for the show, and even if we did complain, I wouldn't expect them to be very accommodating, I imagine they'd go ahead with it regardless of how we felt, but that doesn't mean that we, as a community, have to support it.

I find it unlikely that there'll be any Ghostheads in attendance.

We value the opinions of every Ghosthead at CTS Radio Show Ben King. Sorry if you thought I would use it as material for the show (not too sure wher eyou read that?), but it's not like you opinions don't matter. Also, what's the problem with creating material for the show, please do not act like you weren't on Show 5 of our podcast.

But I also am saying that “we” as a community don't have to not support it either.

I mean on PC's website there are positive comments and people were contemplating whether they should go or not.

Also, they are expecting some Ghostheads to show up, as a lot of Batman fan boys showed up in full costume, which is why they're doing this show for 2 days of performances instead of their normal one day.

I wondered why you would encourage us to send in our complaints to someone you yourself said you felt deserved the support of the community. That's why I came to the conclusion you might've been angling for stuff to add to the feature, everyone loves a bit of controversy.

I'm not acting like I wasn't on the show, or that I have a immediate problem with the creation of material, but I think it's the selection of material that determines the overall impression of a show.

The Orson Welles bits and reading Ghostbusters in german had some fans, but that stuff was just silly in my view and I'm glad to see that things like that have been cut down on, or outright dropped… but come on, a Ghostbusters burlesque show? This isn't a positive contribution to the franchise, it's abusing it.

It's like that stupid “Sexy Ghostbuster” outfit. I'm not denying that the first film had sexual undertones, but this stuff is over the top and as someone who feels he's helped fashion a positive image of the Ghostbusters franchise through appearing in costume with the U.K.GBs, I hate this use of the Ghostbusters name and logo.


Edit: But I'm straying from the point I was making, I don't think it was in CrossTheStreams' best interests to feature lowerst common denominator stuff like “Ghostbusters Burlesque”.

I'm sorry if you thought we were trying to start controversy. All we just did was a 10 minute interview to see how the idea was created and to give insight to the type of show they preform. Nothing more to it, nothing less. I only offered the emails as a way of peace keeping.

Uh…didn't happen. I think what you meant was, we had Orson Wells read from the novelization of Ghostbusters 2, and we did our Top 5 favorite GB 2 lines…in German. And yes, we are always trying new ideas with the show, as we've had people steal from us in the past.

Glad you're taking ownership from straying from the original idea and I apologize if I came off as forward, I was just trying to mend the situation before it became a flame war.

To elaborate, I don't think you're trying to start any controversy, but it wasn't outside the realm of possibility that the negative reaction to this thing wouldn't have made for a more “interesting” story.
