Giving The Rookie An Identity

I have to say, this for me was one of the major drawbacks for the game. Sure, he didnt speak or get a name, but I would have much rather prefered he had no face at all. That way it would be more like “you” yourself were playing alongside them. Or even if they made it where a ghost, Egon had chosen as an experiment instead of keeping him trapped.

Adding another face to the mix, that meant nothing, didn't sit well with me. It took away from the team. It didnt work, to me at least. It may have worked better in first person afterall, unless you could play as the guys. Anyone else feel the same?

Not at all actually… Not giving him a face, and never showing the front of the character would've been extremely weird. He had a lot of facial expression shots that were funny and added to the game.

Yea, I do wish they would've made him customizable, but I wasn't at all bothered by the face they chose for him.

It was Winston.

Personally I had no problem with it. Granted…he didn't add anything to the story…but…he didn't add anything either.

He wouldn't be in any of the CGI cutscenes if he didn't have a face… Since he didn't talk, his facial expressions were the only way for him to emote…

I think that they actually tried to make the rookie look as generic as possible. He looks like an average 20 something year old Ghostbusters fan… Since he doesn't have any striking facial features, I think everyone can feel like they sort of resemble him in one way or another… That is if you are 20 something, white and of average build…

I like the way they did things. The rookie's expressions were priceless.

Actually, I think it was the rookie, but the lighting and shadowing made him look, well black. We did only see the back of his head the first screens.

Having no name didn't bother me though lol, having no face would of been really annoying lol. What would they do have a big black circle that says “censored”, or block his face before you can even see it?

There were definitely screenshots of the game during the production phase where they used Winston's model for testing.
