There were definitely screenshots of the game during the production phase where they used Winston's model for testing.


Ya, those images were what I was suspecting he was referring to.

Actually, I think it was the rookie, but the lighting and shadowing made him look, well black. We did only see the back of his head the first screens.

Having no name didn't bother me though lol, having no face would of been really annoying lol. What would they do have a big black circle that says “censored”, or block his face before you can even see it?

Winston was the favorite among everyone here to use as the player character. In our editor we can pick whoever we want to play as since they all share the same body and animations.
We also had Eric, one of our level designers that was the infamous, curly haired, glasses wearing rookie from some of the very first screenshots.
