Seconded, I just came home from seeing it, going to go see it tomorrow with a friend who is coming into town tonight.

Just an awesome film.

Pretty damn good. Leonard Nemoy's acting was a little hammy, but he's Leonard Damn Nemoy, so he can act however he wants to.

I'm curious to know when Iowa is going to start having canyons, however.

Yeah, Star Trek is a surprisingly good movie. Great Story as the people who wrote it connected the dots so that the old series isn't completely useless as its a clear different space/time continuum that Old Spock clearly states. Hey what they did wasn't a easy thing to do. And the actors……Damn Good. Impressive how they made the characters so 3d instead of paper thin sci-fi crap, most Star Trek movies are.

As far as the actors are concerned I thought a few of them were trying too hard…I am looking at you Anton Yelchin. Additionally I thought Simon Pegg did an ok scottsman, but when he yelled his british accent bled through a little bit however.

I've honestly been avoiding reading anything to do with the movie so everything would be a surprise to me, so the Pegg and the Nemoy appearances threw me for a loop, I literally went, “Holy shit,” when both appeared.

I'm also doing the same with the GB video game, so the section for it on the boards is off limits to my curious thoughts.

I liked it, the characters were really good, except for how they put Spock and Uhura together because I don't remember that from the first series. I know it dosen't have to follow the original series to a T but I think Spocks the last character that they should have hooked up with anybody.
