My girlfriend and I are going to try and rent some good Halloween movies this month and I would like some suggestions on some good movies. Any movies but the Freddy Krueger or the Jason movies. I think those movies are stupid. Let me know. :-)

If you want a great horror film, go and see An American Werewolf in London. It was directed by John Landis (Animal House) and it is one of the scariest films I have ever seen. Also, the movies The Omen and the Exorcist are great horror classics. (*peter)

The Original Psycho from the 1960's directed Alfred Hitchcock still creeps me out to this day. Gotta be in black in white, colour ruins it.

night, dawn, day and land of the dead. gory AND scary. also i'd recommend audition. it's a great movie, with probably the sickest 15 min i've ever seen in a movie.

THE BLOB! One the most scariest films EVER. I mean, DAM! I am so scared of that movie, I can't even watch it anymore cuz it REALLY disturbs me. So try it out, see what you think.

That include the remake?

Silent Hill (For the gore)
Saw (Again, for the gore)

ya you can include the remake in there too. while not as good as the original, it was good to see them take the movie in a subtly different direction. plus it gave us that terrifying pregnancy scene.
and i'll definatly agree with silent hill and saw to add on the list, as well as american psycho. freaking awesome movie.
