OH MY GOD!!! Lost Boys being screwed like that? Oh man. Well it may be good, but I think this will be horrible. I remember in the mid 90's there was talk of another one, I was about to get out of high school. *sigh*

For Lost Boys, it's not the director, it's the producers. Joel Schumacher is the director of the original one but he doesn't own the material, he begged the studios not to tarnish Lost Boys with a DVD sequel but they slapped him in the face and went ahead with it anyway.

As for the disaster of the CG/DVD Gremlins, I don't know who to blame.

But yeah, I hate when they make poor sequels, especially DVD ones.

i always wanted to see a Gremlins 3 happen. most likely i'll watch it. even if Joe Dante is absent in the directing and writing chairs.

I disagree Sinister. Even though CGI isn't live action, this is full sequel with the voices and likenesses of the original ghostbusters. I mean if they got the guys from Lost Boys, then did a sequel of their kids, didi it well, that would be different.

You have a point of course, but I made no comment about the nature of the movie, only the fact thta it's an 80s franchise movie thats getting a sequel. Now, yes it does have the original actors but then so did Jurassic Park 3, and whilst I know thats not quite the same. We can all see how royally that sucked. Sometimes letting something rest is best.

Sometimes they need to rest, that is for sure. Sometimes though, they need it. I mean I think it is bad like on Lost Boys, there was one film. It was and is a cult classic. GB had two big films, a huge tv series and then nothing to wrap it up. Yes same in the sense 80's stuff getting sequels, but to me GB needs it.

I'm really not sure, I think a live action series in the way Buffy and Stargate were derived from the movies is more the way to go.
