Gears of War 2 Exclusive Details – And Ghostbusters Exclusive Too! Posted May 2, 2008 8:23 pm

Hey everyone – Hope you enjoy tonight's episode from Gearbox in Dallas about Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. As always we're bringing you tons of exclusive new footage you won't see anywhere else.

Speaking of exclusive footage, the countdown is on for next week's global premiere of the gameplay from Gears of War 2 only on Spike TV. Let me just say that you will NOT be disappointed. We'll be showcasing footage from the campaign mode (yes, single-player) and you'll see a lot more footage than you might expect: 2 minutes of gameplay in high-definition. This is the biggest exclusive out there. You definitely don't want to miss it next Friday night on Spike.

In addition, next Friday I'll be on location in Texas at Terminal Reality for the global debut of the gameplay from Ghostbusters: The Videogame. Ghostbusters fans will find out plenty of tidbits about what Dan Ackroyd affectionately calls the third Ghostbusters movie. More on that exclusive next week.

Great, the two games I´m waiting for this fall.

I went to Blockbuster and I realized you can pre-order your GoW2 right now… no matter it will be released on November… and I asked the guy if they will have the Ghostbusters game on pre-orders too… he didn´t even knew there was a GB game soon to be released… that pissed me off!! :@

It was great to see new footage, but I gotta tell ya, I was frankly disappointed with it… because it just reminds us that we have to wait until October to get our hands on whats certain to be an awesome game for us Ghostheads… What, you thought I'd say something else?

Seriously though, I kinda wish I didn't see any new footage, it just makes it so hard to wait for it. As for everything else, the only minor detail IMO is that I don't think the stream packs enough of a punch, but beyond that and considering its still quite a while away from a finished product, I can't wait. Besides, maybe Egon stabilized the stream so its easier to control.

Based on what I saw tonight, the game is exceeding my expectations so far. (^_^)

After watching the gameplay footage I do have a few concerns.

The movement of the bystanders is extremely robotic. The graphics on them look pretty dated too.

I also want to be able to place the trap exactly where I want and be able to open it on command not just “slam dunk” the ghost into it. I want more skill an gameplay with regard to the trapping. I may be wrong but that seems to be how catching a ghost works in the game.

All in all I think the graphics need to improve because the game in it's current state looks like a last generation game. I know that the major strength of the game is in the physics not the graphics but the graphics need to improve.

Oh and the characters hair must blow about when a ghost comes close!
