6 long months of waiting, i soon forgot. i got the call on monday, it was in - but at a price. it had to be shipped from the east coast. wow. not a dent on it, im really starting to think: do i assemble it and set her in a glass jar or do i just leave it in the box on a shelf? what do you guys think?

It depends if you want it for collectors value or for your own satisfaction. I mean, if it were me, I'd assemble it. What good is it going to do sitting in a box besides collecting dust? Go for it, back.

I acutally decided to have someone assist me in assembling it, painting it etc… i want it to be perfect! i just need a glass case when its completed.

I got a model of Anakin's podracer from Star Wars Episode I, and after I had it for over a year, I finally opened it and never assembled it. 
I agree that you should open up the Ecto-1A.
