Glad you like Slimer. I made him in the early or mid-90’s. It was made as either a prop or a puppet. So far, he’s performed in a haunted attraction (
www.hauntedweb.com) and at two celebrity dinners here in Memphis, TN.
When he was made, I was working at The Disney Store in Oak Court Mall. We had a shipment come in one day that was a window display (cardboard cut-outs of something like characters or a theme park attraction) and wrapped around it was a sheet of 1” thick blue foam. So, I asked if I could have it and they said yes. I had no idea what I would make with it yet. Then, another display package was received that had two big chunks of blue foam, and my mind began wandering about what to make, and my choice was, obviously Slimer.
The mouth has corrugated plastic boards and is made with straps for easy control, the tongue is made from pink foam, the teeth from white foam, the interior of the mouth was white foam until painted red, the eyes are ping pong balls, and the fingernails are Lee Press On Nails (I hated having to buy those!).
Sometime soon I’ll post up the actual photo of Slimer being held in place by my roommate.
By the way, at work I right clicked and saved that image above as my desktop. Feel free to do the same!
