Most people think of it as commercialism. I think of it as a way to remind your loved one that you do appreciate and cherish them.

As long as you do appreciate them during the year, you don't need to really go all out. Just a card will do (my wife likes my funny home-made ones).

So happy Valentine's Day to all!

And spare a thought for me, my wife's birthday is today (the 16th) so I'd appreciate a minute silence for my wallet. Thank you. :p

It funny ‘cos it’s true… In my case, her birthday is the 21st…
Then, to top it off, my dad's birthday is the 26th…

And I'm still recovering from the Christmas season spend-o-rama

My husband and I promised we would only spend $5 on eachother because we just bought the house and we're going skiing and all that - plus he spoiled me at Christmas.

So I thought ha ha now I've got him and I was going to spoil him for once. So I went over $5 and got him some boxer shorts and a book he really wanted. When I got home from work he had bought me a dozen pink roses and “Little Miss Sunshine” - he one upped me AGAIN!!

But it was nice and we had an AMAZING Thai dinner.
