I have been harrassed by a Ghostbusters.net member through the message boards here, AIM and email. I have asked a moderator to help me, but have gotten none other than a website to look IP address up on. This was not helpfull to me. This user has hacked into my girlfriends AIM, threatened to kill me, threatened to kill other board members and has sexually harrassed my girlfriend. I need to know what I can do about this and how Ghostbusters.net can help me stop this harrassment. Thank you.

Well start off by reporting his aim screen name for harrassment to AOL, block his e-mails, and as for who he is on GB.Net, what is his aim screen name?

I've been IM'd by him with about 5 different screen names. I will give them to any Moderator who emails me and asks for them. sg1star has been a big help in deleting all of this persons messages off of the boards when I find them. Thanks sg1star and the other mods. Also, if I would have to go to court with this person (which we might do), does Ghostbusters.net have anyway of supplying witnesses or information to present at court? I take it very seriously when people say they are going to kill me and to my knowledge I am not the only Ghostbusters.net user to have death threats by this person…

thats terrible. its really lame for people to do this kind of thing, especially here. it goes to show you a great deal of this boards members have some very big problems.

I was sexually Harassessed by a member from GBN aswell.

He asked abunch of personal questions and he'd talk dirty to me. My advice is to report to people like that.

A member of GBN once flooded my email(s) with the YaHa worm some time back.

The Wizard of Oz around here is Chad. If there's any one person who could provide you with logs and information for any legal steps you take, it would have to be him.

However, if I understand the Internet and the law properly, if this person has threatened you or your girlfriend, you have enough information to contact the authorities.

My advice is to contact your local police department and ask them who you need to contact to file a complaint (I'm not certain, but I think internet threats have been handled by the FBI, to date). I don't think they'll be able to do more than direct you to the people you need to talk to, but it's a place to start.

You might also contact AOL, as they likely have extensive abuse policies you can file a complaint through (as well, they should be able to help you block or ban the offender)

AOL does have an exellent abuse contact page! but you only recive an automated response.
