Harry Potter vs GB (in constructive comparison, of course)

Ghostbusters was unvieled in the summer of 1984, and soon became a startling success. It wasnt very long before the idea of plastic toys for kids could be marketed widley, because in the same decade others came out, such as Gi Joe, He-Man, and Robo-cop. Ghostbusters was the biggest thing to hit the world, and it started a new style, a new mod for companies and children. Soonit was 1989, and ghostbusters 2 shot off onto the big screen. Merchandise had been thorugh the roof, and everyone loved it, kids, parents, teenagers. Why was it such a success? Because it was original, it had an orginial score, ideas, it was completely charactar, nothing close to reality. Soon the years went by, it became a houslehold name, and by the year 1992 came around, it began to die down, very sadly might we say. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles took over, a cheap copy, if you think about it, everything was similiar, the settings, the charactars, the idea itself. Real Ghostbusters went off the air soon after that, the market closed down, and Ghostbusters was no more, only what was letf of the continious powe remained. Now we face a new evil, Harry Potter. It wont last however, because of its lack of spark and imagination that carried Ghostbusters, and still does to this day. Harry Potter is fake, and it wont last, it dosent have a song that people will remember, it dosent make you want to jump up and sing when your watching it. Ghostbusters will always live in peoples hearts.

Yes, it's true GhostBusters was and still is the best thing ever! Movies, Cartoons, Toys, ect. But you have to admit that Harry Potter is a very good book..and that's where it belongs….in the books.

Wow, some constructive comparison. And of course you're not biased at all are you…

TMNT is by no means a copy of Ghostbusters. For starters it actually depends on what media of Ninja Turtles you're looking at (the formula of the original comics, to the cartoon, to the movies are all very different). TMNT started out as a spoof of everything popular in comic books, from ninjas, to talking animals, to teenagers with super powers etc. In that aspect I suppose it is SIMILAR to GB, because at it's core GB is a spoof/amalgomation of ghost movies and science fiction. While that remains the core, few people would call GB a spoof, it took on a unique life of its own, just like Ninja Turtles.

Harry Potter too has SIMILAR aspects. We can all agree that just because there are ghosts in Harry Potter books that doesn't justify it enough to be copying or even connected to GB. The primary thing about the Harry Potter universe is that it takes the concept of wizards and establishes a modern day society for them. It's not even so much as a ‘twist’ on the theme of wizards, it just strings magic together and explains how things can and can't happen.

Yes, Harry Potter will never have that certain coolness that GB, nor even TMNT had. I mean it just wouldn't make sense to have a rock theme for Harry Potter now would it? And buddy, you need to lighten up. You're actually fuming because Ghostbusters isn't at the top of its game anymore, you're actually mad at other franchises! Give it a rest.
