If you have photoshop it is actually very easy to do and there are numerous tutorials out there explaining how.
The tutorial I used to make my old sig image was one Kingpin made. Came out great IMHO

Suggestion. How about posting it on the forums as an attachment and those of us with experience with photoshop can futz around with it when they have time and choose whichever one you think looks the best.
