Home Alone 1 better than Home Alone 2!

Can you explain why Home Alone 2 is better?

Better question, can you explain why you have so many remake threads?

It's his opinion, he doesn't have to explain it. Although I do agree with some aspects, it is one of the few sequels that are almost as good as the original.

:-) It is better to see which movie is more popular?

1. Home Alone (*flame)
2. Short Circuit
3. Teen Wolf
4. Adventures in Babysitting

It was better to make one thread and call it movies that are being remade. Someone suggested it. (*_*)

It should've been pretty obvious that its a better idea to make a “Remake” thread, than to create 4 or 5 different ones. After all, this is a Ghostbusters message board, not a remake movies message board.

And none of these will be good remakes.

I will agree to that. The orginal is obvious superior than a remake. It will maintain a classic.

The special effects will be better if it is gonna be a cinema release in some movies like Ghostbusters for instance.

If you agree to that then why are you clamoring for so many remakes?

If the remake Short Circuit for instance. The new audience aren't familair with Short Circuit. That is a another reason why they create a remake.
They could create Short Circuit 3 with a new storyline. After all most of the orginal cast aren't in Short Circuit 2. I like the orginal cast back.
Steve Guttenberg and Allen Sheedy.

Short Circuit 3 sounds great to me.

Wait, what? You're starting to get confusing now, what reason is there for a remake other than to make money of old titles, for the sake of “not having to come up with something new”?

It sounds like you're saying if they make a Short Circuit remake, they'll do a Short Circuit 3. It doesn't work that way. If they do a remake of Short Circuit, the next one would be a sequel to the remake, not of the original.

Yes, perhaps Steve Guttenberg and Allen Sheedy could be in again. As co-stars and not the main characters.
Sequal to a remake is a new storyline. I guess you can't call it Short Circuit 3.

Yea, you're being very confusing now.

If they have the original cast back in it, then its not really a remake, its a sequel. A remake and a sequel are very different. The word you may be looking for is reboot. Which could either mean remake, or a new sequel to bring fresh life into something.

And the reasoning you offered up (new generations aren't familiar with old films), is not an excuse to remake something. Old films exist on DVD, VHS, Blu-Ray, whatever. Re-releasing them on those forms of media is a way to introduce them to a new generation. Remaking them for the sole reason of trying to get new fans is pointless, as it will lose all the old fans in the process usually.

Don't get over-excited. Even though Ecto-2009 has been starting tons of threads about supposed remakes being made, this one is just about his wish that they would remake Home Alone for some reason. There's no credence to this. Its just his wishful thinking.

Thank you for clearing that up, Venkman. I was about to start bashing my computer in with my fists in anger. :-)
