Home Alone 1 better than Home Alone 2!

Yea, you're being very confusing now.

If they have the original cast back in it, then its not really a remake, its a sequel. A remake and a sequel are very different. The word you may be looking for is reboot. Which could either mean remake, or a new sequel to bring fresh life into something.

And the reasoning you offered up (new generations aren't familiar with old films), is not an excuse to remake something. Old films exist on DVD, VHS, Blu-Ray, whatever. Re-releasing them on those forms of media is a way to introduce them to a new generation. Remaking them for the sole reason of trying to get new fans is pointless, as it will lose all the old fans in the process usually.

If they watch it on blu-ray. It still be old and dated. The picture quality will increase. The music will be old.

Robot Chicken Writer to Revive ‘Short Circuit’
That is a reboot and rebooting things will lose all the old fans. I agree with that. Some fans where also lost by Short Circuit 2. So I guess reboot is a better thing to put it. Short Circuit reboot will be a alternate storyline. According to IMDB they will take a different take on the character Number 5.

It works on Star Trek. Perhaps Tweens like Star Trek. Why not with Short Circuit?

That's not a reason for it to be remade. Just because it's old and dated it has to be remade? The Godfather doesn't need to be remade. Rocky doesn't need to be remade. Granted you didn't bring these up, but no one seems to care that the music is “old” as you say. The Rocky and Godfather themes are still very popular today, despite being “old”.

Old music in means that it didn't belong in this timeline.
Whatever comes out in 2010 and named Short Circuit would have nothing to do with the orginal. Never saw The Godfather and Rocky was a boxer I believe. The tune of Rocky I remember. Similar like Eye of the Tiger. Music like when you visit the G-Force website is more likely this time line music. TMNT (2007) was a example of a big change. It is gonna be similar like comparing Batman 1989 with Dark Knight 2008. As a comedy like Short Circuit it will be difficult and hard but it is worth a try if it wants to succeed.

Which is what I said, but that does not mean it has to be changed or updated with a sequel. Like I said, people don't seem to care that the music doesn't fit with todays sound. In fact, that's why a lot of people like them. One of the reasons I love the Rocky score so much is because it's got a classical feel that you hardly see today.

Updating is not always a good thing.

TMNT wasn't a remake, it was a SEQUEL. It was already established that it continues from the first original live action movies, a bit altered, but it's cosidered a sequel not a remake. I'm not really sure what you mean by “big change” though. There wasn't much change other than the fact that it's CGI and a different score. Everything else remained the same and definately had a TMNT feel to it.

You're comparing two different films. Batman Begins and Dark Knight aren't sequels or reboots to Burton's films, they're just reboots of Batman.

WTH?

You agree?

He was disagreeing with everything you just said! LOL. How do you suddenly flip and agree with everything he said?

Do you sit at your computer and argue with yourself?

Not really.

The response was correct.
It seems more logical this way and make more sense.
We don't want a neverending topic.

Classic remains classic. The odds that the remake will better are slim and a bit pointless.
Why have two versions if we already have one good version.

That's my point. You've been saying nothing but “Remake! Remake! Remake!” and one response later you suddenly “agree”? Very odd.

Weren't Home Alone 3 and 4 STV releases.
Still Home Alone feels dated.
In 2008 there was a rumor that Home Alone would be remade.

Believe it or not home alone 3 was in movie theaters. I remember the ads in the mid nineties.

“Short Circuit” was already remade.

It was called “Wall-E”, and that's all the world needed.

Good day.
