I love horror movies and there are WAY too many to mention. My all time favorite one though would have to be Hello Mary Lou Prom Night 2. I know I know its a B movie but there is just something about it that I absolutely LOVE!!!

I'm picky with my horror movies, I only like the really low-budget crappy ones. Like the original Little Shop of Horrors.

The SHining
THe Shining Remake

Technicially, The Shining done in 1997 as a Miniseries wasn't a remake because that was no question a lot closer than Kubrick's butchery of King's novel. Some more I forgot to mention after seeing other people's list are the following:

The Tommyknockers
The Langoliers
Storm of the Century
Shadow of the Vampire
Cujo
The Ring
Poltergeist
Creepshow
Frailty
Scream 1-3
JAWS (only the first one)

Although come to think of it JAWS wasn't really a horror movie. I mean it was rated PG when it came out and there really weren't that many scene's that could label it as a “horror” movie (*peter)

Same title, same concept, remake! I know that it is closer to the novel, but the fact that they made another one makes it a remake! heh heh

True, Johnny, true . I only said the 1997 miniseries technically wasn't a remake because with Kubrick's version King had no (or maybe wanted nothing to do with it because Kubrick really destroyed his novel) input with it. However, when the miniseries was done King (like so many other of his novels turned miniseries) has a cameo appearance in it, plus he actually got to have input in the miniseries version. I personally don't think the 1997 miniseries should be considered a remake, more like another version and a much better version than Kubrick's considering the miniseries was a lot closer to the novel than Kubrick's.

Ahhh, please don't call i a butchery. I know you love the novel, I know the miniseries suited your tastes more, and I know we've argued over this time and time again before (dating all the way back to when I wrote my Shining GB crossover :-) ) but it's hardly a butchery. The Shining is one of the greatest movies in film history. It's crafted extremely well, and Jack Nicholson is awesome. I know how Stephen King is with his wanting things to follow his novels exactly, but think about it. Where has that gotten him? Besides the “It” or Salem's Lot series, and possibly Carrie or, no movie in the horror genre based on anything he's done has gotten rave critical reviews and is loved by many. The rest are just cult followings of sorts. Well anyway, why not just like both of them? They're both really well done, I liked the mini series, although I still prefer the original. But, can't we just feel the love? (^_^)

Anyway, has anyone ever seen Motel Hell? I was watching it on a school night when AMC was doing their Halloweek or whatever it was, and it was freakin' hilarious. But, it was one in the morning, and I had to get some sleep. I'm just scared it was just the scene that I saw that was funny, so I'm scared to dish out the cash to rent or buy it. Can anyone vouch for it?
