There are more than one hundred of them on ebay now, and the amount of money each ECTO-1 sells for is now less. I think the supply may be catching up with the demand at this point. Though I still have not found one at a store.
It's tempting to just get one on ebay, but I would rather wait than spend extra money.

every taret/ walmart/ anywhere, gets raided by scalpers, scalpers who brag about finding them. so i broke down and went to ebay. now on ebay they sell for around 10-12 dollars for 1. I was lucky to get 2 in one auction for 17 dollars. now usually id wait it out and hope to find one but i consider the 17 dollars all of my gas i speant and time looking. Cant wait for them to arive

ebay would save time and money compared to searching everywhere. These days I ask everyone I know to check for one if they're going to a store, or I'll check for myself if I go to a store. So far I haven't made any special trips.
I'm sure I or someone I know will eventually find one, but if not, I'll resort to ebay. The prices should be starting to get really low on ebay before then.

Well I got my Ecto today. Traded it for a T-hunt firetruck. Wasn't content with the details… So.. it got taken to the shop. I have made a graphic water slide for the back, which I am waiting for it to cure so I can apply it. IN the mean time.. here is what My Ecto-1 looks like.

Here is one of the 1/24ths I did of Ecto Nov 2009- Jan 2010. Along side K.I.T.T., and General Lee ( much older builds.) This Polar Lights car, is what lead me to making the roof rack better on the smaller version of the car. Below are pictures with the rear deck graphic. Enjoy!

Wow, that custom painted Ecto-1 looks incredible! I guess you used model paints? I'd love to believe I could do the same, but that paintwork must've taken some real skill. Of course, I've still gotta find me one of these Hotwheels Ecto-1s!
