Wow, that custom painted Ecto-1 looks incredible! I guess you used model paints? I'd love to believe I could do the same, but that paintwork must've taken some real skill. Of course, I've still gotta find me one of these Hotwheels Ecto-1s!

Yes it was. But not entirely with model paints.

The JL E1a WAS AN OK MODEL

The paint aps for the E1 for hotwheels, is substandard and if your like me.. it's a playground for customizing.
Once i took the roof rack off, I was shocked to find a clear see-thru sunroof. What did I see inside?? all 4 proton Packs and computer moniter inside the car! I was impressed by the thought and detail that was done over all. This car is a 9/10 in my book before I painted on it. now since I did the extra work? Yeah it's a 10!

I recommend this car for anyone.

I've taken new photos and gave a small what I used on this car. If you'd like to know more about how I created the rest of the roof rack. Just drop me a line!

Very welcome I am currently working on another 24th scale E1, but will have working lights by the end, if I can figure how to make them work.

I'll admit - I got a “snow flake” carded Ecto off of Ebay last night. Paid 6 bucks for it. The only target here really sucks and the employees are absolutely no help at all, so I really didn't feel that I had a chance to find one. I'll continue my in-store search for the regular card Ectos. I'm just not ready to pay scalper prices for it yet.

I wish I could find some of these around here, but I'm thinking there are employees buying the stock of the cars to sell for higher prices to the collectors.

Yeah, it is only a few dollars more, plus it saves a trip(s) to the store. But still, a few dollars more is enough to stop me, at least for now.

Seriously, I'm mega frugal. I've warn the same 12 pairs of socks for 4 years. The last time I bought new tires, the man at the tire shop asked, “What kind of tires you want us to put on?” I turned to him and said, “Just put on whatever is cheapest”.

Picked up 2 Ecto's at a flea market over the weekend. Paid more than I should have, but about half of what one plus shipping would be on Ebay. Now, if the snowflake one I ordered would come in, I'll be in great shape.

The Ecto-1 won't come close to approaching the quantities of the batmobile. Too expensive of a car. What I will say though is that it will be released throughout the year, since it does have wide appeal. It won't be in every case and should never appear as more than 1 per case. I can't even fullfill internal request for this car…
