I can't believe it! I went to TRU last night to pick up another Ray Slime Blower minimate pack and I figured, what the heck, I'll check the hot wheels. I found 2 Ectos!! First ones at all I've actually found in a store.

What store?

The Toys R Us here in Amarillo.

Yea, I went out today… went to 2 Walmarts, a Target, and 2 Dollar Stores… NOTHING.

I bit the bullet and bought a lot of 6 on eBay… and trying to cover my bases I had bid on a few auctions and I'm still winning another 3… I'm gonna end up with way more Ecto's than I need, lol. But at least now I finally have it.

I cannot tell you how many times i've looked for this since it was released with no luck. I finally broke down and bought on ebay. Had to pay more but better than wasting more gas and time.

I have no idea, but it probably will come out or is out.

I found one last Sunday night, but didn't have time to talk about till now.

So I went with a friend to Walmart and decided to check the Hot Wheels selection. I saw that it looked recently restocked. I then saw the number 25 over 44 on the top right corner of a box only about 3 or 4 car boxes back on one of the display rows. I knew this number was that of the ECTO-1 so I reached back for it and there it was, an ECTO-1. It was quite exciting to find one.

The first ECTO-1 I got has the number 27 over 52 on its box, and although it's the same ECTO-1 in the box, I notice the red strips and no ghost logos look better on that one than they do on the one I found last Sunday.

Here's a picture that Jay Tigran posted of his ECTO-1. Notice how the red paint is on the lower parts that separate the windows.


The ECTO-1 with the number 25 on its box looks like Jay Tigran's ECTO-1, but the first one with the number 27 on its box has what I would call a totally flawless paint job.

Has anyone else noticed a difference in the paint job quality between the different boxes the ECTO-1s come in?

Finally found one! Mabye there's something to this “patience” thing after all.

It was just there, waiting for me. First peg, second in line. I damn near became the first guy to have a nerdgasm in the Walmart toy department. Glad I didn't; they'd ban me for life.

they are popping up more frequently. Haven't found any till this past month. 4 total so far in the past 2 weeks.

I am still having no luck finding an Ecto. I've checked Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Target… even Kmart for crying out loud. I'd hate to have to pay way too much for one of these things on eBay. Especially when all I want is to pin it up in my cubicle… to bring a little joy to the joyless world of office work.
