I'm pretty sure that's what batman2 was trying to say, that it was “so shotty” that he can't handle paying for another “inferior” product
Does anyone remember the RGB Ecto-1 toy? It was so innacurate from the Ecto it must have made you people cry.
Why can't you people just say “Yay! They're acknowledging our fanbase!” and live with it?
Ep, I think you're right. I reread his post again, my bad.
The 1/21 diecast gets deep under my skin because it's been used as a reference to make further E1 related merchandise. If it was just a one time deal, it wouldn't bother me so much.
I really like the Hot Wheels E1 for what it is.
I have no problems with the RGB E1 for what it is.
There was a super deformed E1 die-cast a while back that I really liked for what it was (and I'd still like to find one for myself).
The 1/21 diecast however failed pretty hard at what it is, and that failure has been infecting other products.
Yes, people can be too nitpicky. But at the same time you shouldn't just except everything that bares a GB logo, because it potentially damages the brand by leading to steadily inferior products (or would you like to see a resurgence of GB shaving kits for kids).
In the case of the Hot Wheels car, I think its perfect considering it's scale, price range, and set limitations due to the toy's primary age group (in fact I'd say that it exceeds my expectations).
