i wouldn't even want a novel, just something along the lines of “making ghostbusters”, the actual script.

Yeah - the script!!!

Who else want the scipt for GB3: Hellbent (First Draft by Dan Aykroyd) published in a book form. I need votes here, otherwise we won't be successful.

Well the script would be treated guys, If Dan couldn't get a movie out of it, I'm sure he would at least want to perfect it as a novel, more people would be interested. Whens the last time you viewd the “Script section” at Waldens?

I understand what your saying mario….but what I am getting at is

A) Even though there are many scripts published the usualy come AFTER a movie has been made or when its never going to be made (which in both cases, the script could be published).

B) What I am saying is This is Dan were talking about so I see him wanting it to be made more for a wider audiance (even though there are scripts, more people read novels) and just to clear things up we ARE talking about a novel, meaning the original author of the script would be writing it NOT an adaption (like most novels published after movies are). And I see Dan wanting to fully treat (meaning to every last detail describe while telling the story) the script the way he would see the movie. Example?

Ent. The Door opens slow (door creaks, or tweaks or blah blah blah)

OR

Dr. Stanz opens the door, weary of what ghastly creature could be lurking just beyond…

I'm just saying that I think Dan would rather the story be told in book, the way it would be if filmed. I would like to have a script, would be just as cool to me. I just dont see the big D letting it go down that way

It would take a lot of work to make the first draft of the GB3 script into something readable, either as a novel or as a published screenplay.

You're assuming that Aykroyd can write a novel (which is a lot different than writing a screenplay), for one thing.

For another, Sony would have to grant the publication and no studio is going to grant the publication of the script for a possible third movie.

And finally, time is money. In order to push the project through, Ayrkoyd would have to do almost as much work (sans pay - no money until the deal goes through, assuming it goes through) as getting the actual movie made, so why not just push for the movie.

I think you guys are close to a better idea, and that's why doesn't someone publish Ghostbuster novels? They've done it for most other popular science fiction franchises, why hasn't someone published a couple of Ghostbuster books of new adventures?

Good points, I do agree. Were just throwing ideas around, but the novel thing is a breath of fresh air and you know what, since I do write i think imight run with that ball.

castewar,

you are worng, first of all none of us knows how good or bad the script is. yes -there was stolen the unfinished, very-early-state first draft of Dan's script.

i would like to see this (or the more advanced version) script published in a way which the shooting script for gb1 was published in the making of book.

i would like everyone to have a chance to read this script in a legal way.

sorry but you are a partner in crime if you have this script at this point. this is plain sick and very *anti dan aykroyd* to talk about his stolen script in a bad way judging from STOLEN thing
