How Do I Open The Shandor Tower Gates?

I've tried using Slime Tethers and the Capture Beam on those glowing stones that the statues dropped but nothing happens and its pissing me off!

You DO use the capture beams. But you have to hold them up to where they need to go. It takes a bit, but keep trying, eventually the game animation will take over.
