How To Play GhostBusters: the RPG !

LUCK & ACCIDENTS

Luck: Your number of Brownie Points applied to the Table should give you the state of your luck. The Lo ‘ est it is, the Hi ’ est the probability of bad luck-based events happening to you… and the Lo ‘ est for good events, etc.

Basically, a lot of Brownie Points makes you a lucky buzzard while low on them you’re down on your luck…
GhostMasters should refrain from pure-luck adventures!

Acciddents: will hurt you no matter how big your Muscles are so the GM will roll against your Muscles UNANSWERED (GM's roll only) resulting on the normal scale of Damage. Again, GhostMasters should refrain from an excess accidents.

The GhostMaster will roll

1 die if the player steps on a mouse trap;

12 dice if Godzilla steps on the player;

…And all that's in between.

Well that's it, the main parts. This is mostly the way *I* play the game. My apologies if I strayed from the source.
And remember, you can always keep it simple with the How-Much System - it can do it all!

Just a couple of weeks over four years ago (back when I had more time on my hands) I posted what I hoped would be the first overview on the rules for the RPG. Sadly, I never found the time to follow up.

But if it provides some additional info or a helpful introduction to the people who aren't familar with the GB RPG, here are those features;

Overview of published game materials.
Introduction to the basic rules and character creation.

Visit the above page for the best guide on how to make a new character. Among other things, it features a list of Talents and the way to reasonably assign your Trait points.
Another resource page I found is that of Fudge Ghostbusters, an adaptation of GBI into a game called “Fudge”. It differs from the original but it still can be of help - their ASCII Character Sheet for instance - easy to copy and print! Too different sadly, like they have Fudge instead of Brownie. :O
But I'll try to create something like that to post here in the future, more like the original Sheet.

* I would also like to apply for a Sticky. This is a guide to the board's very subject. Besides some people have asked for something like this without even noticing *

Here's a simplified Character's Sheet.
Partly inspired by the page above, easy to copy and print (and fill). Certainly it looks better in the “Ghostbusting” font.

Sound confussing to me. I think I'll stick with playing the RPG in the chat room. It's less confussing
