How to prevent Ghostbusters from failing...again

Alright so now that we know the GB revival is definatly on its way, I thought I would open a thread so we can brainstorm how we can help 88mph promote this and prevent it from failing like the last revival(EGB). I think aside from word of mouth there should be street teams that put up promotional posters and give out stickers to help get everyone aware of how great the GBs are and let everyone know there back in action. Any other ideas?

PR events, like the GBs bursting into say… a Walmart and doing GB stuff…

Well, I don't think it will fail for the simple fact that it's based on the original movie, not some action figures

I hope you don't consider EGB a revival, because it wasn't. It was just an attempt to squeeze the last penny out of a considered dead franchise.

First thing's first, ADVERTISE!!! That's why EGB didn't work, because no one knew about it until it was over!

I agree, Master Spider. EGB was not a true revival.

I think that starting the new GBs off as a comic series is a good way to go. I mean, let's look at Ninja Turtles. A few years ago, they started a new comic series. A good comic series. Then they started hyping it up a little, and with the success of the comic BAM! new cartoon series, action figures, clothes, condoms, you name it, all with the Ninja Turtle logo.

It's times like this where the Ghostheads turn to the franchises to dawn their Flightsuits grab a smoking trap and running screaming through a heavily populated mall.

Well, in my own brand of promoting it I already have plans. I was talking to the manager of the local bookstore a few months back and mentioned buzz of a GB comic. He said he'd probably be interested in ordering it. So tomorrow I plan on going to the bookstore, walking in, slapping down both announcements from here and 88mph studios on the counter and saying something like “you said if you knew it would be out you'd get it. looks like you're going to be making an order.” Maybe try to handle it a bit nicer…. We'll see though. Pretty much, I'm just hoping to get some type of certainty that I'll be able to get it in my area and not get screwed out of being able to get a hold of it like I usually do with so much other GB stuff. Most of the time it's over an hour away, and that sucks. I just hope that for once it's something that can be carried somewhere locally. I guess that certainty is the main thing I'm worrying about right now.

One thing we need to to do is make sure it is in color instead of B&W.It's a small company and some small companies don't do color..

Um, Glycerine, the anouncement here is the one from the 88mph site. I'm pretty sure it's exactly the same word for word.
