How would everyone think of an anime Remake of Ghostbusters

I'd like to see a new series, perhaps with a similar animated style to RGB – but slightly sleeker, with no errors.

Or maybe even a Bruce Timm-style GB cartoon like we see on Cartoon Network with Justice League/Batman/Superman

i hate anime also. i'd hate to see a remake of gb in anime. however, i think that if it was to happen it would in anime as its what the kids like now, suppose its a fashion so to make it more popular i think it would be.

souns a good idea though!

I think a 90 minute movie would be the best actually. It's certainly a lot less work than 13 25 minute episodes, if you wanted a short season. Most anime series range from 26 to 52 espisodes, though many become extremely popular and keep going. We would hope for the latter with this, of course. But just to test the waters and produce something complete, a movie format would work.
And for those of you who don't like anime… I would suggest watching any of the following series: Hellsing, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. You're extra lucky because the last two are going to be on Adult Swim next month. I've watched and loved the first two, and the last two have seen rave reviews.

Depends on who is behind the helm of the animation. Get someone who actually has a cool style and not cater to the OMG-Kids-Love-Pokemon-Let's-Copy-It's-Style suits.

Mad House Studios does have some pretty interesting character designs I.E. Ninja Scroll and the AniMatrix episode World Record.

Though I woulnd't mind if they used Watanabe's style either. (Less like Cowboy Bebop and more like what he did with Detective's Story in AniMatrix. That was pure brilliance and originality right there.)

But I'm more for an american studio taking the helm, like the folks behind the new TMNT. That would be excellent.

A 4kids GB. :-O
It wouldn't last a week.

Anime is a particular style of animation that the GB has already been highly influenced by. Some of the directors of the old toon must have been fans of anime to some extent because you'll notice many scenes that offer stylish character movements and flashy fx seen in many of today's better anime offerings. Granted the animation technology back then didnt allow them to go as far as they do now, but alot of anime influences were still found in the orginal. The wierd hair. The tenticle creatures. Giant mech suits. Big eyes, half naked ladies… and the list goes on and on.

Honestly, yes, they could do an all out wacky macky anime style gb show, but I dont think it would be that different from the original. (*winston)

I really like the idea of 88MPH starting an animated movie or even a full out series. The art in the comic series is awesome and to see that fully animated would be amazing to say the least! (*peter)

I agree, using 88 MPH's style would be so damn great. Its the best art of GB I've seen. RGB was too childish (I know, it was made for kids, but still) and anime just doesn't really fit with Ghostbusters I don't think.

Personally, I can't stand 99% of most of the anime out there.

What I'd like to see is a new Ghostbusters cartoon animated by Dong Woo Studios.

Didn't they do the animation for Extreme Ghostbusters and Godzilla?

But I agree, their style for TMNT, MIB and Jackie Chan rock.

That would be amazing! But at the rate those guys whip out comics, it'd take years for just one episode! :-O But if the moneys right I'm sure they could do it. But totally, that'd rock hardcore. The ion streams alone would be spooktacular. All the ghosts would look amazing as well I'm sure. An animated Dana would also be interesting.

Animated, yes. Anime(as in Japanese), no.

Having been exposed to, and a fan of some, Japanimation for the past 25 years, I have only this to say:

Modern anime sucks.

Doing Ghostbusters in a style like Pokemon or Digimon, with overdone expressions, no noses and ridiculous spiky hair would be a low point for the franchise. Not to mention the horrible plots and dialogue that plague most anime these days.
