I've noticed people having huge animated signature images that are hundreds of kilobytes in size.. taking quite a while to load and makes the whole page slow down.

I think signature images should be disabled, or rules should be put to limit the file size and dimensions.

I think the guys here at Ghostbusters.net do a FINE job as it is, and if they have a problem with it, then they will fix it, from what I seen this is the best darn ghostbusters site I have ever seen or heard of on the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Signature banners being disabled was one of the commonly-voiced complaints. So far I've only encountered one animated banner but it didn't slow down the page loading for me.

In your profile there is an option concerning “Viewing Signatures” which you can disable, and should mean you don't have to see them anymore.

I think a reasonable size limit would be 500 x 100 as that won't mess most (if any) resolutions up and it remains neat at the bottom. Some forums the signatures are just a pain and it really disrupts the topic.

Anyway just my two pence worth.
