but remember that Slimer is the dead John Belushi
so why not have a dead Peter?
I think it would be cool to see Peter as a ghost joining the ghostbusters in their ghostbustin

EGON: Talk to slimer and bring him over here!
EGON: I told you it wasn't a good idea to have him live with us!
EGON: You have a point.
EGON: Time to go..I've got ECTO-1 ready.

It's 2009. The ghostbusters are old and arent getting many calls. Most of them just sit around listening to classical music, playing cards and watching television…Egon is always on the internet. Peter is at home with Dana…he's the only one whos moved on. Ray and Winston are still very close…Egon is distant, working in the lab.
In the opening scene we see Slimer living with the Ghosbusters headquarters. The film starts with a montage of music as we see Slimer hang around the firehouse and eat the ghostbusters food and pissing off Ray most of the time. He throws food and drinks all around the place, causing havok and just being hilariously funny. The place is a mess!
One day, Louis shows up with gifts and drinks for the Ghostbusters, they had not seen him in 15 years…he's now a successful internet guru. They hang out and talk about old times while slimer sits in a corner listening.
Slimer starts getting jealous of Louis and threatens to shut down the containment unit. He's almost starting to look scary at times!
One night, when everyone is asleep. Slimer goes down and shuts down the containment unit. Out of Jealousy. There is a huge explosion and the Ghostbusters wake up to see this. Ray screams at Slimer!
EGON: I think I may have a way to fix this.
RAY: Whatever it is, we don't have that kind of money Egon.
EGON: Talk to slimer and bring him over here!
RAY: I'll try, but he seems to be very upset at me right now.
EGON: I told you it wasn't a good idea to have him live with us!
RAY: He had no where else to go! what am I supposed to do? kick out the poor guy?
EGON: You have a point.
Eventually, the Ghostbusters go to the Mayor and ask for a city loan to control the city. Havok everywhere! Slime everywhere, people getting slimed on broadway, central park..basically everywhere.
The city is shut down. Everyone ordered to evacuate the city. Peter shows up.
PETER: What the hell is going on here?
RAY: Sorry Peter, it was slimer, he's out of control.
WINSTON: Are we going to get off our butts and go get these things?
EGON: Time to go..I've got ECTO-1 ready.
They pack up, rack up.
In the meantime Slimer attacks Louis and chases him around the city…Louis screaming on the streets.
To be continued…

Yah, I'm sorry dude but the characters are all wrong.
Ray angry with Slimer for one, since when is Ray ever angry? and Egon sounds more like a drill sergeant than one of the smartest men alive.
And the whole Slimer jealous of Louis… maybe, just maybe that part of the story would work for an episode of RGB…but not a live action GB3.
I'm sorry dude, but your idea just doesn't work.
and if it was 1999 then they wouldn't have seen Louis in 10 years, not 15.

It sounds to me far more like an episode of The Real Ghostbusters than a third film but it also sounds as though you don't really have a clear vision of where you want the story to go.
I do like your imagination. What I would suggest is before you begin writing, plan your story. Write up a list of story pointers so that you know exactly the way your story is going to play out from the very beginning to the very end. Once you have your story pointers take each one in turn and start noting down ideas for how the scenes will play out, the characters who are involved and any funny, interesting or clever pieces of dialogue that you think of.
Once you get this plan down on paper then start writing up the first draft of your script. Once you've finished read it over and give it to other people for feedback. If any changes are necessary rewrite it in a second draft.
The average length of a film script is usually 120 pages.
I encourage you to keep writing. You'll find that you'll get better and better with practice.

jedimiller;165110Your original post said 1999, and even then 2009 would make it 20 years later, basic math ftw.
it's 2009. Ray would be very angry at Slimer if he shut down the containment unit…
I think Lucas is right when he says that you can't please original fans..they will always find something wrong.
To be honest, I haven't really written a 120 page script for GB3…I just come here and use my instant idea and go with it. I have taken directing courses and writing courses and I know how to write a script…Its just that i'm doing it for fun here, i'm not going to get paid afterall…And writing draft after draft would take months…I have a regular job you know?
I suppose I could stick to writing episodes of TRG is they ever made some other shows and submit them.
I"m just throwing out ideas out there guys.
