I have a good idea for Ghostbusters 3. Summary.

Your original post said 1999, and even then 2009 would make it 20 years later, basic math ftw.

And Ray's pissed off before he shuts down the containment grid according to your script.

I'm sorry, pleasing “original fans” may be difficult, but at least get your characters straight. They don't sound like the Ghostbusters that have been established, since your using established characters in this idea of yours.

And you're treading into GB2 territory with the guys starting out as being down & out again…. Why can't the franchise flourish for once? take a note from the game in that respect. remember, the game is considered cannon as Harold & Dan got their hands on the script.

Forget the first story..that was scratched off…No more dead Peter…the first draft was in 1999..the second draft, part 2 takes place in 2009. Yeah, the ghostbusters are still paying taxes and fee's…They are broke most of the time and depend on the city for loans. I know the video game says they are full time city workers now, but that would suck.

and remember that this is 20 years or so later….the characters have to change…they are older and more irritated..ever been around old people?

Yah, I'm sorry dude but the characters are all wrong.

Ray angry with Slimer for one, since when is Ray ever angry? and Egon sounds more like a drill sergeant than one of the smartest men alive.

And the whole Slimer jealous of Louis… maybe, just maybe that part of the story would work for an episode of RGB…but not a live action GB3.

I'm sorry dude, but your idea just doesn't work.

and if it was 1999 then they wouldn't have seen Louis in 10 years, not 15.

Basically everything Jay said here is how I feel as well. You aren't writing for their characters properly, you're just writing whatever you think up at the moment. You're definitely writing for an RGB style story as well, this isn't a live action type of story from your outlines. A live action Ghostbusters isn't going to have the main plot be “Slimer is jealous of Louis so he's trying to slime everyone in the city”. If anything this is close to the story for the episode “Slimefighters”.

And if you're now saying that all your doing is sharing ideas here and that you don't have the time to write a 120 page script, why just a few pages back did you offer to let everyone read the whole script (since you apparently didn't have one)?

You have some fun ideas, and if you're cool with thinking of them in RGB style, episodic type scripts, then I think you'll get some more positive feedback. But definitely work on your story direction. You're all over the place.

true. Well, I'm primarily a star wars fan. Well, I have to go, poker day today at the casino…be back tomorrow. I have some stuff, but I don't think i should post it…and to be honest, I haven't seen the real ghostbusters since I was a young teen on television. I guess I should buy the sets.

I agree with Jay and Doctor Venkman on what they have said. At this point, isn't anyone think this thread should be moved to fan projects?

Yes this should be moved to the fan project section. It's not really Ghostbusters III related.

Not any more, that's for certain.

I know the video game says they are full time city workers now, but that would suck.

Why would it suck for them to remain in business, rather than continually go out of business, wait for ghosts to pile up again, and go back into business? Answer: It wouldn't. It would be very cool for the franchise to actually be an accepted and respected profession.

Yes, the characters have to change… a bit. You've written them as completely different and saying things that don't even remotely fit with their characterizations, as they've already been established.

why was this moved to the fan project section? I was writing a scene for ghostbusters III. Not some fan fiction. Oh, nevermind, forget it!

You were writing a scene for your version of Ghostbusters 3, so it would've been fanfiction.
